Agreed. The expectations when you guys got Cousins was SB contender. Not middle of the pack. He went all-in on a 'three of kind' type of poker hand in the same division as Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah, and it isn't that cousins is inconsistent or crumbles under pressure, let's look at his skill set. He has a tremendous arm and great accuracy when given time. He also has zero pocket awareness, is slow to check off on options, and has an extremely long release time. Against bad defenses, he is going out up other worldly numbers and stat pad. Against good defenses he is going to get sacked, have his passes dirt mailed due to long release time and being hit, and will do nothing but check down as he can't process fast enough for the pressure.

I get that but you guys were also a bottom 5 defense this year. And he is a defensive coach. The Lions collapse almost certainly lost him his job.

Cousins is overpaid but you should still be getting to the playoffs with him when the Lions and Bears are rebuilding.
