I used to watch a lot of Pirates broadcasts when I had the MLB package and Bob Walk was talking about how much the players hated them.

They kept those fucking things forever too. I'm glad I gave up on baseball in 1992 when they put STan Belinda in to pitch instead of Wakefield. I didn't even see the whole Sid Bream fiasco. I shut the TV, threw the remote across the room and said, "That's it, I fucking done with baseball".

Junior Year in high school football. Our school was never supposed to make it into District semifinals, hell I don't even think we won a playoff game in decades before that year, and we were facing a perennial powerhouse. We lost in the final minutes, and I was teary-eyed then I saw some of the toughest seniors crying and then it all set in that this was our final game together and then that REALLY got me.

As for College/Professional Teams, don't really remember crying but I get pissed off a lot

I remember after that '09 ass-kicking by Baltimore, sitting in a huge bathtub in the dark in California for what must have been a couple of hours and I kept coming back to the bottom line that I'm at now: it makes no sense at all to get that heavily invested in a team that doesn't know you exist or give two shits about your opinion on anything.

That and the whole Colin Kaepernick debacle changed me forever on the NFL.

From where in was in 2012 to now, my sports watching is down 99.9%. Used to go to pro and college games and have all the packages to watch all the games and probably watched parts of 300 baseball games a year.

I just don't have the interest in it or the desire to support the bullshit, especially the NFL and NBA.

Not to mention I have waaaaay better priorities now.

My son is developmentally disabled. Years ago he started watching sports with me. He is so invested in it now. That is all he talks about and gets so worked up about it. I got tired of watching baseball and basketball games with him and burned out on it. I hardly watch games now except for NFL

I hated the Braves, too, for obvious reasons. I don't hate them anymore. Lucky for us they only won the WS in 1995. It's amazing that the Atlanta Braves have only won the World Series one time, as they were a serious contender in almost every single year in the '90s and they've also made the playoffs 11 times since 2000. The '90s Braves could've been a legendary dynasty.

My answer is no. The worst "my team lost" experiences always end up with me being angry and throwing shit, not crying.

My wife and I went to Manhattan intentionally for game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, Sox vs. Yanks. The Curse was still in full effect. Sitting in the hotel bar with a million Yankees fans taunting us. Game goes into extra innings. In the 10th my wife couldn't take it and went up to our room to watch the end. In the 11th, Aaron Fucking Boone hits a walk off homerun. As my forehead hit the bar, most Yankees fans actually were sympathetic. When I got up to the room my wife was fucking SOBBING like she just found out her family died in a house fire. That was the most negative emotional sporting event of my life.

And then exactly one year later, the most emotionally positive one. Come to think of it, I might have leaked a little awesome when Varitek jumped into Foulke's arms. But there is no proof so fuck you all.

You're right. The only time they didn't win it was in 1994 when there was a strike. I believe the Expos were leading the division when the strike happened, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Braves had come back against them like they did against the Giants in 1993.

The Braves were so incredible during that time, it really kinda feels wrong that they only won 1 World Series. Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz. Wow! And they would always seem to find a fourth guy who would pitch really good whether it be Steve Avery, Denny Neagle, or Kevin Milwood. It was unfair! LOL.

There are only 3 teams that their results controls my mood, and a loss usually means I shut down. I did get 'emotional' when Mark Ingram and co beat Texas for the Natty. It was the first one I ever saw them win (I was 6 in '92 and chasing tail, not Bama football), and I was living in China, watching it online while speaking to my Father, and once the clock ended the game, I may have shed a tear or two...all I'm certain of is that I absolutely blitzed that night.

I have actually given up going to 'big' Alabama games as I've been to some rough ones and they are so expensive. Those big losses are:

Losing to Tom Brady and Michigan in the 2000 Orange Bowl
Losing to Auburn on what is known as the 'Kick Six' Game
Losing to Deshaun Watson and Clemson on the non-PI call Natty

I have felt something special, worth of goosebumps only at the Natty game as I had always wanted to go to one and I had missed out on Phoenix.

I plan to visit Montreal next year and go to a Habs game at the Bell Center, and while I don't think I'll come close to crying, I already get goosebumps just thinking about finally seeing them at their home.
