he needs simpler verbiage not jay Gruden ‘s BS which all of the qbs struggled with to include CDC
By now everyone must be aware of the rote biases that accompany African American QB's. They are among the higher level insults and obstacles that must be overcome by any one of them daring to man, one of the manliest leadership positions in the nation. Anyone feigning knowledge and support of this bias in some form or the other, is part of the overall problem that these young men face.
What makes him football's level of unintelligent? His youth? Nope they are all young entering into the league. How about his study habits? Didn't seem to be a problem until he qualified to become an NFL QB. Oh yeah, it was the system that made him a star in school, right? Nope, because we have a living testament to that bias when looking at head to head competition with another player at the college level, who after getting beaten in that competition, isn't dealing with charges of being less intelligent, or less the QB than the guy who beat him out.
America is a nice place to live, but Americans in far too many places aren't very bright. (I'm being kind). When there are charges directed at a total stranger (for most of us) concerning his intelligence, perhaps, it's best that those leveling such charges, take a real close examination of themselves and find an answer to that introspection, that begins with... where is my support of this coming from?
The likes of Johnny Mansziel and that douche nozzle up in Cleveland now don’t seem all that bright to me.
Listening to Haskins in the clip shared by Dad seems extremely bright.
Hell, my boy Peyton, the true best of all time, doesn’t sound all that bright.
It isn’t always about race. There are other factors. As a matter of fact, Russell Wilson never had those questions from what I remember and neither had Mahommes.
It's always about race man.
Ethnically Wilson and Mahomes are Black, but culturally is where they will more likely than not to be identified with being an African American.
Both had to face qualifying race questions and in some quarters aren't considered African American. Shameful isn't it? Well imagine HAVING to deal with something like this first from the shrinking majority and again from the rising minority.
Colin Kaepernick embraced a culture, although like Wilson and Mahomes is considered multi racial, and one can argue that it cost him any future opportunities to play quarterback in the NFL. He made a choice and was roundly criticized in a particular part of society and heartily embraced in another.
There is a significant shift in the quarterback position with the likes of Mahomes, and unanimous MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, top over all pick Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals. These player represent what was recently deemed laughable by a majority who are now slowly, albeit reluctantly, accepting this change. It doesn't mean that acceptance equals an abolishment of generational biases, but there's hope in clearing that first hurdle.
I think it was time for Jay Gruden to move on but one thing I do not agree with is Jay Gruden's BS verbiage. Calling plays has always been a learning system in the NFL. It is much more difficult than college football where plays are coming from the sidelines in hand signals, colors or numbers. Cousin's did it just fine. Andy Dalton did pretty well under Gruden.
Maybe Jay's verbiage was part of the reason we seemed to be such a shitty team in the 2 minute drill and at the end of the 1st half/end of games.
Of course that's strictly speaking from the offensive side of the ball. Lord knows our defensive issues in the 2 minute drill and at the end of the 1st half/end of games is another ball of wax altogether.
I never understood Jay's two minute or even four minute offense. You are possible right Breed, maybe relaying a long drawn out play and having the QB relay that caused that hurry offense to huddle and go slow. It would make more sense to have a hurry offense that relied on less verbiage and more speed.
I'm going to let it go but with this understanding. To question a man's intelligence is extremely personal. If the talk centers on his football IQ, that's the football part of it. Sty out!

I twitter for sports ( particularly for skins ). On this board it comes up on occasionOh, and by the way, SD. That's a nice bit of tape of Haskins explaining his reasoning for why he did what he did on those plays. I can't say I've heard any talk of Haskins not being smart enough, but I don't facebook or twitter and he looked/sounded plenty smart enough on those plays.

Gerry DiNardo did a great interview with Dwayne while he was still at Ohio State in the film room. It is worth watching.
I found a small clip (2 n a half minutes or so) on YT of DiNardo speaking on Haskins n Justin Fields, but not much else. If you can post it or tell me how to find it (I don't have the greatest search skills) and I'm now on a viking pro notebook (still trying to figure this android stuff out) I'd like to see it.

Kap wasn’t a good QB so he decided to make money as a race hustler. When you alienate half the population with your bullshit stance, you get shunned.
