can;'t argue that
9 straight 50 goal seasons...Mike Bossy will never be tied let alone broken.
19 striaght playoff series wins 1980-1984 New York Islanders. No one will probably ever reach 11.
Not true. If you look at Rick T's about Mario "Mario's 5 goals every possible way in 1 game (even strenght, short handed, power play, penalty shot and empty netter)...the stars would really have to align for that to happen again...
It could be matched but how could you break it?
That's the thing though. I don't really consider it a record. Its an awesome feat like hitting for the cycle in baseball, but not really a record. Unless you want to say he has done it in the most consecutive games (1) in which case someone could break the record by doing it in more than 1 consecutive games. Or forget about "consecutive" and just use games in general.
Glenn Hall's 502 consecutive games played for a goalie. Hardest record in sports to break, period. It will never happen.
Keep in mind that the +/- stat back in that season included a + for PP points and a - for a PP goal against.
I found it...
* Best ± rating, career: Larry Robinson, +730
* Best ± rating, season: Bobby Orr, +124 (1970–71)
* Best ± rating, game: Tom Bladon, +10 (December 11, 1977 against the Cleveland Barons)
* Worst ± rating, season: Bill Mikkelson, -82 (1974–75)
+730! That's incredible.
This might not be the toughest record to break but a very unlikely one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Theo Fleury's 3 SH goals in 1 game.
