I really don't think the 49ers will miss him.

Lemon was going to get PT regardless, he showed that he is a dominate pass rusher in the pre season. What this means is that Cam likely makes the team so Skuta can concentrate on ST.

Both Lemon and Skuta have looked really good this pre-season. Cam making the team could be interesting even though he might not suit up often.

if its for a 6th or 7th then its a bad trade. he only cost what 1.5. we are already are 7 million under

According to the beat guys, it's a 7th rounder that's conditional on Haralson making the Saints final roster. That's low, so I'd think the idea that he'd have been cut anyway was accurate. Must not have been much of a market, and they got what they could while clearing a little bit of cap space.

Shitty.. Saints got a great deal if that is true.

Whatever we don't use this year we can rollover for next year. So, if we have someone else to use in his role that we're already paying, that money can help re-sign Kaep or anyone else next year.

As for the 6th/7th compensation, I won't pretend to know what fair value is, but the "only 1.5 when we're already under the cap" part doesn't make sense when that 1.5 will help in the future. We've determined to get rid of him so we can get that cash. That's our priority. We want to get the best pick back, but keeping him and that salary because we didn't get a fifth hurts, too. Now the money isn't the issue, it's the compensation (because keeping him isn't ideal).

I guess they're just trying to get something in return for what amounts to a salary dump. This sort of thing could spell trouble for Brian Jennings, too. I'm kind of shocked we couldn't find more compensation. I almost would have preferred releasing him outright and hoping he signed with a less viable contender.

Couldn't we have gotten a 7th round comp from him leaving anyway? To me it would have been better to keep him then trade him to the Saints who by the way we play this year :L I dunno this trade gives me an uneasy feeling for some reason.

Comps are only for players who leave as FA's.

And I don't understand the point of keeping a below average player when there's more talented, younger and cheaper players to give snaps too.

The Saints D sucks. Does adding Parys change that?

The Saints D is going to suck less with this addition. We have Skuta!
