Whoever said Tolleson is not a closer please go to your county hospital and take a breathalyzer test.

I think the reasoning is that he wasn't going to be available tomorrow anyway, so save the other arm for tomorrow
8 of his pitches were intentional so I think he would be available. Plus he sat a long time.

There was not a better time to throw Bass or someone who is never in the game at that point.
Either that or a blow out. But I would have preferred then.

Banny let off the hook re allowing him to get to 48 pitches. Ask the question Emily Jones

Very early in the season I stated that if the Rangers finished around .500 then Banister should be manager of the year, and it was met with a resounding yes from all corners.

Now, all some want to do is bitch and bitch about his use of the BP.

For me, I'd done exactly what he did today with Tolleson today. Sit him for the next game, day off, and then he should be refreshed for Tues if needed.

Big difference between 48 pitches than around 30 for a closer. I get that he was unavailable regardless. But I hate to see overuse lead to injury. Of course Nolan would not fret over this.

And we are allowed to have our opinions as well. This is exactly why Kela was sent down. You tell me why you have guys like Bass in the BP and the reason for pitching Tolleson. I would rather have him available tomorrow and he sat for a long time in the dugout which is not par for a reliever.

And by the way we all complain about moves here and there along the way yourself included.

It was really 8 less as those were part of the intentional walks.

Also I did want to hear his thoughts re Tolle. I understood rationale re earlier Perez outing.

Agreed.....just don't get all the venom reining down on a guy who has gotten us in a position to challenge for a playoff spot. Which I think ALL OF US would agree, this was about as far from our collective minds 60 days ago as it could get? And I'm definitely one to complain, probably more than I should. So I'm definitely not getting on ANYONE re: this. It's just the overt accompanying venom which takes me back.

Bass is our long man isn't he? That's why I'm thinking he didn't want to use him today.

And I don't think it would have been wise to even try and pitch Tolley tomorrow after he'd thrown so much the last few days, and he threw under duress as well. Which, at least to me, isn't taken into account enough.

But like you said, it's just my opinion.

I hear ya.....One thing about both Banny and JD, they answer the question, if asked, and don't really dodge it. You/me/us may, and sometimes do, disagree. But at least he will answer the question with something other than, "I just felt like it."

Know what I mean? haha

I remember the first day I walked into a classroom to teach students for the first time. Lawd knows how many mistakes were made. So I will pass on the verdict concerning Banny for now. I didn't turnout so bad and he probably won't either no matter how loud I holler.
