this is hilarious and no they shouldn't change the rule.
They should when a team like the Spurs abuse the system to this extent.
Don't eliminate it but limit it at least
It wasn't enjoyable to watch, especially as a Clipper fan.
But, change the rules?
Make your free throws.
As a Lakers fan, I've been through about 10 seasons of Hack-a-Shaq and then 1 season of Hack-a-Dwight. My thoughts now are the same as they were then, you're being paid millions of dollars to make those unguarded shots. If you can't, that's on you. The rule shouldn't be changed, these guys should make their free throws.
If he can get his free throw shooting to at least a little over 60% (or do like Shaq and hit them when it counts), the Hack-a-Jordan will stop.
There are only 3 solutions to this problem.
1. Improve his free throw shooting.
2. Park his ass at the end of close games and live with the non-existent defense of Hawes.
3. Lose most close games by leaving him in as he misses 2/3 of his attempts.
Jordan can limit them from using the rule by making his free throws - just as he did last night. The headline read - Hack A Jordan Fails. They should when a team like the Spurs abuse the system to this extent.

It failed because The Clippers beat the Spurs 119 to 115. As I said before - All Jordan has to do is figure it out and make the shots. It's ugly basketball, but they didn't change the rule of other players that have went through this and I see no reason to change it now. Let it motivate them to be ashamed of themselves and work to improve themselvesNot sure how it failed. Jordan is about a 41% shooter from the line and last night he mad 35% of his 28 free throws
