Um....Im'a call that a bad shooter if he takes....bad shots

And 30% is bad no matter where he shoots, see him miss some right on the line badly almost every game.

You may think this is semantics, but it is an important distinction.

Ben Simmons is a bad shooter. Shaq is a bad shooter.

JR Smith is an excellent shooter who makes bad decisions.

Poole is like JR Smith.

You said in your post that you weren’t sure it is fixable.

It is 100% fixable. Because he has elite shooting skill. He just needs to stop take the highly contested quick release off the dribble as often as he does.

Think I'd still rather have Ayton

Poole/Baldwin for Walker/Christie/protected 2029 first, lol?

The problem is he counts as his extension salary to the acquiring team, and only current salary as outgoing. So you need someone to take Russ to basically make it work, or I guess adding bev nunn and maybe Jones gets you there

But someone needs to eat them

Only if they trade him after the season? Trade machine shows his trade value at $3.9M.
Yeah his money doesn't kick in until next year. He's not going anywhere until at least the offseason.

Yeah the only teams that could are teams With huge cap space, or they’re invoked as a salary outlet

Heard an interesting comp, Poole is kinda like DLo or to a lesser extent Kelly Oubre. Thiee guys are all talented but they just don't have games that fit the Warriors concept. Poole needs to go. He's not bad as a low rent Curry when Curry is out which will continue to happen as he gets older. But with Curry around he's not cool with his bench role.

I'd rather have D Lo

Something was off with him this year with minny but his stats were still much better then Poole this year.

End of day Poole played his tail off to get into the league so he's a success story. But not even remotely in the ballpark of that deal

Oubre just Went through a world class cold spell playing for the warriors

And he’s just not as good as he should be.

His 3 ball is very erratic in his career stats

Poole just needs to stop thinking he's the second coming of Curry. Play within the offense.

Poole's 3 ball is just bad. I'm not saying they are exactly the same just that they are all talented players that don't work on the Warriors

I think in order to diagnose the problem, we have to look at what went well last year for him to succeed.

1) Warriors had a dominant defense last year. This year, overall, it's been incredibly bad. Jordan is a massive contributor to this. Last year his flaws could be hidden when he was out on the court with Wiggins, OPJ, GP2, etc. This year he's had to play with Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb on the 2nd unit.

2) With the influx of injuries to Curry, Wiggins, and also the early rests for Klay, he's had to assume a much bigger scoring role. Last year, he was a spark plug who was able to come in and create on a defensive minded team. Now he's being asked to play 40 minutes and go get 30 on a given night. Then the following night he's asked to go back to the bench. It's the inconsistency of the role that is hurting as well.

3) #2 above leads to the disconnect between himself and Curry. When does he defer? When does he try to attack? He doesn't have a defined role, so they're mostly just winging it. On top of that Kerr does the team no favors when he elects to start 4 guards.

Jordan absolutely deserves some blame too. He makes poor decisions and his shooting is erratic. His defensive is abysmal. Poole needs to get better. But Kerr and the team need to do a better job of figuring out how to best use these players and how to best construct a roster.

One quibble...their defense is incredibly bad but only on the road. They are 3rd best at home. If they were bad all the time you could at least explain it...why so shitty just because you are on the road? These are battle tested ring wearing vets who always played well on the road...

I think it's just not their year, complacency, injuries, etc. There's not much urgency after winning a title, and it's not like they were some juggernaut last year

Agreed

If you can deal him for better fitting pieces then he's someone else's problem

The defense matters, he seems to be on a Jamal Crawford nice scoring punch as a 6th man trajectory
