They shouldn't be, titles are team awards...A lot and i mean a lot of better players than others have not won any titles...doesn't make those players that won rings any better on an individual basis

Okay....you want to go by individual accomplishments?

Jordan has more Finals (6) and Regular Season MVP's(5).

They are tied for 10 first team all nba's. But, Jordan has 9 all nba first team defense to Lebron's 5.

Jordan has been scoring champ 10 times to Lebron's 1.

Jordan still wins.

I get why he wants to use age 31 as the barometer.

It makes it a much closer comparison.

Again: Jordan's career is a finished product, which slants the deck in his favor.

So, maybe we should wait until Lebron hangs them up or clearly surpasses MJ before we crown him GOAT.

My original post in the thread was lebron vs jordan at age 31

Somehow the goal posts keep getting moved....

Not to mention that the NBA is a lot easier for scorers now than it was in Jordan's day. MJ might have averaged 40 a game nowadays, which sounds crazy until you realize he averaged 37 a game one season even back then.

considering the rule changes, zone defenses, etc you might just be right. lol had the same argument about Jerry West years ago if the NBA had the 3 point line back in the 60's...

So, what you are saying is, we should only use a formula that tips the deck in your guys favor?

I agree it's very competitive using age 31.

But, you have yet to agree that using any other comparison point, like first round 3 season or career vs career, makes this a pointless debate.

Agree.

If Lebron wins 2 or 3 more titles or MVP's, it blows my argument to shit.

But, if he never wins again?

He will be a ring below Jordan, just like Kobe.

There is no requirement for how short or long you play in the nba

So if lebron plays 10 more years are you going to dock everything he does individually because he played longer?

Yeah.....

I don't even think Lebron and Jordan are comparable players.

Lebron is some shit we have never seen before.

I guess the closest thing would be Magic. But, that doesn't fit exactly.

He's almost like a Malone and Magic hybrid...lol

Kobe is the only player that I am comfortable comparing straight up with MJ.

Both guys were huge scorers. Bron can. But, he is more well rounded.

Why would I?

I'm judging them based on career accomplishments, not stopping at a certain age so it skews the stats in my favor.

A guy with 14k posts and 9,000 trying to trash lebron shouldn't be calling anyone a troll

Lebron is in your head, you must have had a meltdown when he won the ring over the greatest team ever
