Grading the team from Game 1 vs Southern Miss

Offense - B

Taylor great game! Now keep it going next week.
Jackson great play from the new center. Getting to the second level. Kick out blocks on the ends. Also, I think no holding calls on the line.
TE and WR great day.


Defense - C-

D-Line need to get off the line make better plays.
Whaley and Stafford made some bad plays then pick it up.
T.F.L. of 11 is great.

Special Teams - F

Maher 0 - 2 on FG One Poor ass Punt of 20 yards and kick-off out of bounds. Come on Man!!
Kick-Off team let one go to the house!!!!!

Special Teams F, however I'm not sure Maher didn't injure his foot/leg on the first field goal he missed, kick coverage concerns me more so

I can't possibly give the Offense any other grade than an A+ for this effort to be honest.

Anybody who had hands on the Offense and wasn't a part of the Offensive Line, ended up touching the football and making a positive impact in this game. It was outstanding all the way around.

Defensively, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point beings that Southern Miss presented a huge guessing game for Bo and Papuchis. It is extremely difficult to prepare for an Offense when you have no idea what it's going to look like.

When you look at what we gave up Defensively, it wasn't nearly as bad as it seemed when watching the game. Southern Miss ended up with 260 total yards, and 13 points of Offense. They only completed 7 passes on us.

I think we will struggle again with UCLA a bit for the same reasons, but am reserving judgement for now due to the fact that it's early and we are playing unfamiliar opponents.
