I think it is interesting that everyone wants to blame Kaepernick for the loss and he certainly deserves his share of the credit but what happened to Gore in this game? The routine of running into his offensive linemen and falling down unless an obvious hole exists is getting old. I think we need to continue to develop Our running backs and give some real competition to Gore. Oh, and on the delay of game screwup by Kaep, why the hell isn't Harbaugh calling a timeout there if your Qb is clueless? I see every other coach doing it. That penalty was a big deal. Get your head out of your ass Too, Harbs.

It is called making a team one dimensional. They took frank out if the game and made Kaeptain either run or pass to win it. The thing that worries me more was that our "D" gave up a huge chunk of yards in the run game and big plays in the air. You cannot allow both and win with turnovers sprinkled in between.

Don't get me wrong, I love Gore but he contributed nothing tonight. He has bursts of greatness but more often than not lately, he has been 1 yard and a puff of dust.

Gore didn't help but the run plays into the 8-9 men in the box wasn't smart...

I mean, you SEE IT, why not audible to a PA or a pass play?

By the way, I think our D played great. The offense and special teams put them in bad positions but the D kept us in the game. You take away the one big Lynch run and the Wilson miracle pass and Seattle didn't do much on offense.

I agree..that's falls on Harbaugh though. It looked like Harbs was calling plays during a good portion of that game. If you can't trust Roman with the play calling, maybe time to find a new OC.

We keep running the ball in these compressed multiple Tight End jumbo sets which makes it not only obvious we are going to run but easier to load the box. Seattle ran out of a lot of 3 WR sets which loosens a D.

I don't understand how throughout the season we ALWAYS called a timeout if the playclock gets to 2 or 1 with 14:37 remaining in the FIRST or THIRD QUARTERS and yet when our FUCKING SEASON is on the line we don't? That BUGGED the shit outta me.

It was almost like they wanted to prove that they were okay losing 5 yards to appease the millions of asshats that complained during the season.(and yes, I am one of said asshats)

Can't blame this one on Gore, the run plays that were called were horrible and he was dodging guys in the backfield. That being said, I don't know how many more seasons I see Gore doing this, I wouldn't be shocked if he retired. He just doesn't have any burst left in those legs.

I wouldn't mind Carlos Hyde in the 2nd round. Not sure he's going to last that long though when we pick. I think we need to part ways with Dixon and LMJ. This draft is loaded with serviceable backs (Le'veon Bell, Zac Stacy, Lacy, type like selections) that we can draft outside of the first round that can come in an compliment Gore or Lattimore extremely well.

And the 50 yard pass too. Don't forget that. And don't whitewash the D, they gave up the big plays. Their screwups were at least as bad as Kaps.

As to Gore, maybe we over-used him during the season and wore him out. He had nothing Sunday. We should have been using Hunter and LMJ more all season, they are a great change of pace. It would be great to work then into the pass game as well. How many passes to our rb this year? Very few and even fewer by design.

def agree with Hunter needing more touches. He has a hell of a lot more explosiveness than Gore and a very similar style of falling forward to pick up those extra yard(s). Lamonkey James sucks at the RB position and sucks at the KR position. He needs to GTFO

I hate to say it after all Gore has done for the 49ers, but his time as a feature back is over. He is too slow. Our offensive line is absolutely horrendous at run blocking too. Yet the 49ers still insist on the same old power football even when they are getting dominated at the LoS.

Our o-line and Hunter seem much better at sweeps. But I think some of this just comes down to Harbs, he wants to be smash-mouth and insists we be smash-mouth, even when we wind up getting smashed more often than not. Our short yardage run game (3rd and one) has been pathetic for some time.

Both run defenses are pretty stout, but Lynch was able to break one which was significant. Part of the problem the Niners have with their red zone offense is quite frankly Gore's inability to make a play in that part of the field. Perhaps if they could have stuck it out, he could have took one in the house, but his lack of speed is more evident than before.

Gore is the man no matter what happens, and he'll go down as arguably the best RB in franchise history along with Joe Perry. However, the Niners need that running game to pickup next season if they want to be in the discussion again. Lattimore, as talented as he is, is an unknown commodity with risks involved. LMJ sucks and is a waste of a pick. I wouldn't even reach for De'Anthony Thomas as some of you have mentioned since Oregon doesn't have a real good track record when it comes to producing offensive players (not the same can be said of their defensive standouts).

To make a long story short, the Niners need to start distributing the carries if Gore is to remain next year.

In defense of the offense, why is no one mentioning Anthony Davis? I need to watch the game again but I don't remember him looking stout last night.

How have you been Yosh? I was hoping to experience both of my favorite football team win in the same calendar year (Seminoles & hers) but it didn't materialized that way. It's going to be yet another long offseason for me. Not sure if I can continue to endure these constant highs and lows, I'm certain it's not good for the health.

Anyway, with regard to De'Anthony, I want him bad but not to be our 1st, 2nd, or even our 3rd back. I want him simply because I am sick and tired of seeing how bad our return special teams unit is. We need a major spark in that part of the game and I strongly believe he can provide that. He's going to be this next generation stud return specialist - Hester like impact when Devin had fresh legs coming out of the U. I wouldn't want De'Athony to get no more than 3 touches on offense p/game. However like I said earlier, we are in a desperate need to get a viable threat on our return team.

So when Frank was being tackled almost simultaneously to being given the ball, it's his fault? It was obvious when they were running the ball. He didn't have daylight to make plays. It's not on him.
