So when Frank was being tackled almost simultaneously to being given the ball, it's his fault? It was obvious when they were running the ball. He didn't have daylight to make plays. It's not on him.

Ya there dline was on gore almost every run play it seemed. Not the greatest blocking by our line from this game.

How have you been Yosh? I was hoping to experience both of my favorite football team win in the same calendar year (Seminoles & hers) but it didn't materialized that way. It's going to be yet another long offseason for me. Not sure if I can continue to endure these constant highs and lows, I'm certain it's not good for the health.

Anyway, with regard to De'Anthony, I want him bad but not to be our 1st, 2nd, or even our 3rd back. I want him simply because I am sick and tired of seeing how bad our return special teams unit is. We need a major spark in that part of the game and I strongly believe he can provide that. He's going to be this next generation stud return specialist - Hester like impact when Devin had fresh legs coming out of the U. I wouldn't want De'Athony to get no more than 3 touches on offense p/game. However like I said earlier, we are in a desperate need to get a viable threat on our return team.

I've been good man. Let's not forget bro that I followed FSU back in the days of Ward, McCorvey, Vanover, Brooks, Floyd, etc, so I was quite ecstatic when they beat Auburn.

Honestly man, I doubt Thomas lasts past the 3rd but if you're the Niners, perhaps you take him with one of your third round picks. As for me, I wouldn't do it because of the lineage of Oregon players to not succeed in the NFL. I actually like the type of football they play because it's pretty neat seeing what Chip Kelly did with that team in the past. However, they are a program where the system may make the players better than what they are. LMJ has speed, but he's more of a straight line runner than he is a dynamic player.

The Niners could use a WR/KR/PR the way Seattle had with their "no name" receiver or what the Niners had with JT back in the late 80's.

This is what they could use:

- C to replace Goodwin

- #1 corner, but whatever they do, Rogers should be on his way out

- Assuming Boldin is the number 1 priority, get a wideout we talked about in that KR/PR/WR form

- 3rd ILB for depth

- backup QB for Kaep.

- Perhaps let Whitner walk and draft a safety who is more than adept at pass defending. See: Seattle with Thomas and Chancellor. You should remember this bro, but I talked to you about how impressed I was with Chancellor especially after that Va Tech/Bama game a few years back when Saban won his first title with the Tide that year. It helps to have safeties who can both cover - the Niners had that when they had Lott and Hicks back in the 80's and then again with Hanks and McDonald during the 94 season. Just like the SB against the Ravens last year when Boldin got behind our safeties for a TD, the TD pass by Wilson on that 4th down where the wideout beat Rogers and our safeties looms large for this team.

Most importantly - lock up homefield for next year. We play the NFC Championship in our house, the Niners have a higher probability of getting those 50/50 calls. I know people will point out the Ahmad Bradshaw no fumble, but we won't get jacked again if we host the gate to the superbowl.

I hope Gore just retires. He is done. He gave it his all in his career but its safe to say he is done. He was running on empty out there. He missed like 3-5 holes where he use to burst into. he was a step slow in this game.

I love gore but when Father time comes knocking its time to go.

Gore vs Lynch last night was a huge difference.

Lynch was turning -1 yard, 0 yard, and 1 yard gains into 3 or 4 yard gains. He did this atleast 5 times. Gore never did that once. Thats huge to sustain drives and atleast have somewhat of a threat.

Gore and Whitner should both take pay cuts.

I think he is too but that is what I meant, to stay he has to take a home team discount to make up for raking them when they signed him from Buffalo.

There aren't that many WRs in this year's draft class who are also guys I would consider to be electric return specialist. Beckham, Watkins, and Cooks are three guys I can think of. Dri Archer is another, but still, I don't see that many guys who are dynamic as returner and a receiver. Our offense this year didn't get that much help from our return team, 98% of the time we put up some points was due to the fact that they had to drive down field on their own. That worries me going forward.

I definitely hear your concerns about the Oregon's program; it certainly should be part of the overall evaluation; but as for me I don't like to put to much weight into this particular type of situation. I don't like to hold or try to make a correlation of the production of past players in the NFL with the school they came out of. They do play a finesse style of football in comparison to a hard nose PAC 12 team such as Stanford. However, I'm only concern about getting an explosive player to fulfill one type of role (RS) - he could be as soft as Ted Ginn on the field for all I care, if we can grab him in the 4th round to replace LMJ I would be ecstatic.

Yes, I definitely do remember you being big on Kam a couple years ago. Even though I liked them when he was coming out, I never would have imagined that he was going to turn out to be that good. The thing about him though, the defensive scheme he plays in puts in in situation that really does not exposes his flaws. His skills set and Pete Carroll's system was like a perfect marriage.

I'm okay in letting Hitner walk this year. I think we trade up again to draft another safety (Alabama's HA HA) in the first round. That would make me angry but I would have to swallow the pill and just try to enjoy a good young safety tandem. Baalke has not made me proud with his first round picks ever since he was promoted for that job.

Next draft or FA again we need our top picks to be 1 out of 3! WR with great hands and jumping ability, DE with size and pass rush ability, CB with speed and press coverage ability! Go 49ers!!

Both run defenses are pretty stout, but Lynch was able to break one which was significant. Part of the problem the Niners have with their red zone offense is quite frankly Gore's inability to make a play in that part of the field. Perhaps if they could have stuck it out, he could have took one in the house, but his lack of speed is more evident than before.

Gore is the man no matter what happens, and he'll go down as arguably the best RB in franchise history along with Joe Perry. However, the Niners need that running game to pickup next season if they want to be in the discussion again. Lattimore, as talented as he is, is an unknown commodity with risks involved. LMJ sucks and is a waste of a pick. I wouldn't even reach for De'Anthony Thomas as some of you have mentioned since Oregon doesn't have a real good track record when it comes to producing offensive players (not the same can be said of their defensive standouts).

To make a long story short, the Niners need to start distributing the carries if Gore is to remain next year.

Lynch was breaking them consistently for 5,6 and 7 yards in the second half because they changed up blocking schemes and did different things. Meanwhile the same old straight ahead Gore up the gut nonsense the 49ers employed only got weaker as the game went on.

I will be truly sad to see Gore run, he rivaled (and possibly surpassed) guys like Emmett Smith with his balance, patience and vision. Of course I don't include Barry in that list because his balance, patience and vision are the best I've ever seen from a RB.

As for replacing him, it would be a waste to draft a RB as I believe we have the future of the position right here on the roster. It is the Hunter and Lattimore show going forward. As for Dixon, there is no way that I would want to part ways with him at this point, he brings to much to the team outside of the RB position; he is a leader on ST and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team, you don't just throw players like that away.

As for LMJ, that guy can go.

Dixon has grown on me as well. I don't understand why Hunter isn't more involved in the offense. I love Gore, but Hunter gives a burst of speed. We absolutely need a kick returner as well. I kept hoping yesterday that LMJ would break one and give the offense a short field, but it never happened. That would have been huge.

Lynch was killing it in 2nd half because they went to several zone read plays with 7 linemen/TE to block with no FB. They ran one way, but Lynch has the option to read and cut back if someone on the defense loses gap integrity. Since we almost never bring a safety up to put 8 in the box, the offense can put a hat on every defender in the box. If one guy gets beat it's 5 yards, 2 guys beat it's 10, 3 and it's a TD like what happened with the 40 yard TD run.

This is why Fangio irritates the hell out of me in that he can be very predictable and relies way too much on his players to make plays instead of game planning. When he was aggressive with the blitzes Wilson got shut down. When he played soft and safe we got killed.

Apparently reports are frank broke his hand early in the game. He is supposed to have surgery Wednesday.

If true, he continues to show how badass he is. Hopefully frank will agree to restructure this year. I think he will. He is a true team guy.
