Yes, but once you trade a player away they just don't generally come back around very often. John Lester said he'd come back and sign with the Red Sox if a trade occurred. Guess what, he's pitching for the cubs.
No it isn't 100% guaranteed, but then it also isn't 100% guaranteed that we would even want Beltre in 2017 or that he even wants to play then.

Lester and Beltre aren't even apples and oranges though. Their situations would be tremendously different.

I am not saying Beltre would definitely consider coming back here, but if that is the case then so be it. To me it all depends on what we can get for him. What we get for him might very well help us win in 2017 more than Beltre could.

Absolutely there are no guarantees. But to be honest, I'm letting my heart prevail over my mind here.

Almost crapped when read TEX had claimed Michael Kickham LHP

Unprotected by SFG in the Dec 14 Rule 5 and claimed by CHC then traded a month later to SEA. Now released from AAA Tacoma ... 21IP, 7.28ERA, over 2 WHIP.

Was just looking at SEA's roster ... were we aware that Mark Lowe is in the SEA BP?

Gerry Fraley seems to think Rua has bulked up too much to play 2B any longer. I don't know about that.

Was wondering what happened to him. Last I knew, the Angels were none too impressed with him either.

the Maddux brothers can turn spare into serviceable.
I would hate to see what Kirkman would have been without them then. Same thing for Ross last year.

I give no credence to Fraley's baseball opinions. Rua isn't any bigger than Ian when he was blasting 30 bombs.

He was projected back by end of May ... now that he's moved to the 60Day its going to be end of June at earliest.

I doubt they moved his return date back 30 days simply to acquire a spare LHP. I'd bet you a case of beer they've received medical reports that he won't be ready as soon as they initially thought.

Lol at Fraley. One question comes in about Gallo and Fraley says he has been back playing for weeks. A few minutes later someone asks another question about Gallo not having a HR and Fraley says it was because he missed 3 weeks and hasn't played much. Which one is it Gerry?

Like I said. No credence given to Fraley.

My dream is winning a WS in 2017 with him as our DH.

And we could still do this.

Trade him this season for some terrific prospects.

Then sign him as a FA in 2017 to come home and never leave again. I get your apprehension about trying to do this. But Lester is a front of rotation starter, who got bowled over by a boat load of bucks.

Even if AB plays exceptional, his payday won't be breaking anyone's budget after 20 years of service.

I wouldnt mind trading him -- but I'd prefer to trade him to a team that has a better assortment of prospects.

I never suggested trading him without there being a nice carrot on the end of our stick in return.

Was this comment meant for me since I didn't mention any specific team?
