He was projected back by end of May ... now that he's moved to the 60Day its going to be end of June at earliest.

Nope. Been on the DL for ~35 days...so they can back-date the DL assignment.
He had a high ankle sprain/small non-displaced fracture. His "projected" time back was end of May - mid June.
The "earliest" he can come back is at the end of this month. But I dont see him back till mid-June. He's just now out of a boot and in a heavy tape job.

So no, Rua isnt losing time to some waiver claim. He's actually hurt.

I think the reality is that once you trade him ... he's pretty much gone ... and while respecting your loyal fanmanship ... there are likely to be better DH options in 2017 for that WS run than a 38yo Adrian Beltre.

Thanks for the info on Rua's current status.

What it tells me though is that if Rua was about to be pushed to the 60day DL that there may not be interest in acquiring the contract of Field to allow Odor to be optioned to Round Rock and that Rosales may shift to the everyday 2b role and Odor to the bench.

Situation was complicated by Martin going out last night and is day to day so DeShields will have to play CF.

I doubt they moved his return date back 30 days simply to acquire a spare LHP. I'd bet you a case of beer they've received medical reports that he won't be ready as soon as they initially thought.

now that makes more sense than anything else that has been posted on this

We've fielded worse lineups this year.

Why not if Rosales is the alternative.

OK....call me just as crazy too.

Let Rosales play 2nd for now? What, it's gonna get so much worse? Really...........

Can we do it? Can we actually win 2 games in a row, and a series?

Odor does have hope. Rosales has none.

Well, I thought there was no way we win last night so I will say no because Wandy lives on the edge and it will catch up to him. I figured if I was negative about our chances last night and we won why not do it again.

He played April 10th so the most they can back date it to would be the 11th. So we are at the 24 day mark. Fraley acted earlier as if Rua had been on the DL since late March as well.

He is now out until June 10th I guess. Ready or not.

Odor back in there, hitting 9th.

This makes me crazy.

So Odor gets 3ABs off last night and now everything is hunky dory ... never mind his K when he PH for Rosales. So was he just being punished?

I could care squat about whether Odor is the missing piece in TEX 2015 WS run. I care about what he is able to do in 2016 and 2017.

Having him sit down on the end of the bench ... or next to Bannister all night ... does not help him one bit.

I would rather have Odor down in AAA where he can decompress and get minor league ABs. I guess sitting on the bench and flying around with TEX is next best option ... but it doesn't help him get better when he's got very little to fall back on.

If Rua's ankle is a problem to the extent that he needed to move to the 60day DL ... then 'snarfing up' a spare LHP off the SEA waiver wire can't be more important than giving Odor a better place to learn.
