You don’t think Wentz misses more? YPA favors TH by nearly half a yard and they have the same completion percentage. People claim defenses should have had pick 6s all the time. They even out.

You are correct on the Wentz sack comment. There would have been at least ten sacks had Wentz been QB.

Why would you think Wentz gives us a chance to do something real? Did we beat some team I am unaware of with Wentz?

TH is still averaging more points than CW.

I think there was an effort to get him involved. That was an amazing TD.

I hope Wentz stays in the locker room. If we need to go to another QB, go to Howell. He literally can’t be worse than Wentz.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond. But the last thing I want to do is get sucked into the Wentz vs Heinicke debate. I stand on what I said. I like Heinicke. I think it was me, Sportster and Skinsdad that were the only ones who wanted to give him the ball when Wentz got hurt.

oh, i thought you did the playoff machine and worked out the scineros.
I did. Most likely 9-7-1 does get us in. The Lions and Cardinals scare me. Especially the Lions.

but the Lions and Cards have to win out. Highly unlikely. The Grap injury was huge for us.

the play calling after the Samuel run in OT was just horrible. Inside run and WR screen?? You gotta be kidding me. We were not in FG range. Slye missing the 52 yarders earlier in the 4th qtr was huge
Missed FG was the game essentially. So much for ST player of the month, lol.

Cards probably have to win out, but the Lions might not have to because none of the next four are gimmies. Cleveland is gonna be good in a couple of weeks. The Cowboys will be favored and the 49ers just beat Tua. We don't have a Tua.

I knew we wouldn’t sweep the gnats and have been saying it for weeks . And I wouldn’t call the browns automatic either .
The Browns looked like shit pie! Should be an automatic win imo. Coaching, coaching, coaching, coaching....

I haven't said this because I didn't want to come across as hyperbolic or jinx it, but here goes. With a healthy St. Juste and a dialed in Chase Young, this is a Superbowl worthy defense.

I am not saying the Skins are a Superbowl team. The offensive line is a mess, but if Heinicke can pick up his play, or Scott and Ron can trust him more, the only team I don't think we can beat is Dallas. They would just blitz us to death.

Now if someone can knock off Dallas for us who knows.

I've run the playoff machine and there are scenarios where we are the 6th seed playing at Seattle because the Seahawks ran down SF due to the Grap injury. I like that for us with an offense that is capable of scoring three touchdowns.

Real to me means not just happy to be there. Real to me means we enter the playoffs as the team nobody want to play because the defense is lights out and Wentz is throwing for 300 and the deep ball is back which is opening up the run even more.

I AM NOT ADVOCATING BENCING HEINICKE RIGHT NOW. You can't and you shouldn't. I just think they need to do everything they can to get Wentz ready to go.

Going to Carson is big reward, but there is no doubt the possibility that it could blow.up in your face, destroy the locker room and kill the season.

I dont envy Ron. There is no way what I just said hasn't crossed his mind. Both scenarios, good and bad.
Actually I don't think your idea or suggestion that the Skins could do some things with Wentz at QB is crazy, but there's 2 things that missing that make it very unlikely in my eyes.

1) The strength of the offense is the WRs imo and that's not a good thing with an OL that's as poor at pass blocking as the Skins OL. Compounded by a QB as jittery as Wentz which weakens the team's strongest offensive unit considerably.

2) Neither Wentz and Tmac or Samuel or JD are really in tune with one another. Tmac is the Skins best WR, but he n Wentz haven't developed any chemistry. In the 6 games with Wentz as the starter. Tmac never led the team in catches or targets and as far as the targets go. I think many of them were more the variety of I gotta throw some passes to 17, but had very little to no chance for success. Tmac did lead the Skins in rec yards twice during this stretch. Against Philly, a game that for all intents n purposes was over at halftime. Against Chi when he had 3 rec for 41 yards.

22 rec/367 yards/16.6 ypc/1 TD were Tmac's stats in the 6 games Wentz started. Over 17 games that comes to about 62 rec/1029 yards/16,6 ypc/almost 3 TDs. Other than the ypc nothing about those stats say #1 WR.

Perhaps if Samuel or Dotson had taken up the slack and provided #1 WR stats during the 6 games Wentz started. Wentz providing something real could be a possibly.

Samuel produced receptions at a #1 WR rate, 34 rec, in Wentz's 6 games, but he only had 2 TDs in those 6 games and only 3 games where he averaged 9.5 yards per catch or better (his high was 11.1 ypc) and 3 games where he averaged under 7 yards per catch (his low being 3 yards per catch)

Dotson put up 4 TDs in the 4 games he played with Wentz, which I thought impressive, but only caught 12 passes in those 4 games for 152 yards which breaks down to 3 rec/38 yards/12.9 ypc/1 TD a game.

Each WR produced in 1 area that is #1 WR stat viable, but none produced anywhere near or even close to all around #1 WR stats. And none of it imo is the fault of any of the WRs. I like all 3 guys quite a bit actually.

I see it as highly unlikely that Wentz comes back in top form (whatever that may be at this point in his career) he's gonna be rusty I'm assuming. And I think its a fact that the OL hasn't gotten significantly better if at all far as pass blocking goes. Which again is why I see it as unlikely a return to Wentz is gonna put some kinda spark in the passing game.

I do think next year is gonna be pretty interesting or a total train wreck who knows. The Snyder must sell the team talk has all but died far as I know. If he decides to sell or is made to sell what happens to the coaching staff and some of the players? The new regime one assumes would have no loyalty to anyone presently with the team as a player or coach.

For Wentz to provide something real would imo require that the team basically as assembled right now would need to come back next year as well as the same coaching staff basically.. With all having a full off-season to work together n get to know one another. And at this point I can't say I'm a huge fan of that happening. but I can see a possibly that if Wentz returns to some semblance of the QB he once was. With the necessary requirement to upgrade the OL pass blocking......................................Things could as you alluded to, get real.

I see no scenario where Wentz is here next year. We are gonna need that money for Payne. I agree with your post in general. If they run Wentz out there and he flops, Ron loses the locker room and it's season over.

A part of me is still curious what we would look like with a run first philosophy with Wentz and Wentz having eight weeks under his belt to watch and really learn this offense. I remember there was talk that he wasn't allowed to audible because he wasn't comfortable with the offense.

Huge risk, but imo maybe a higher ceiling for this team. Right now you still gotta role with Heinicke. I've stated for weeks that Heinicke deserves the chance to play his way off the field. He hasn't done that yet.

Get Wentz in uniform though. What's up with that? Is he really still hurt or is Ron trying his best to keep things status quo. Hence, Chase still being on the sideline.

Sexual harassment? Why is Allen looking at TH’s nuts in the workplace environment?
Maybe they make noise like 2 pool balls hitting each other when he walks by. I can't front. If they did I'd look at them as well. More than once even.

Interesting questions though one hopes the reasons for Wentz n Chase still being street clothes. Are completely different with neither having to do with destroying team chemistry. Though I do agree that sitting Taylor down right now to go with Wentz now is fraught with danger. Another curious thing is when Wentz was in Philly watching Foles become a hometown hero. He was publicly making noise about his unhappiness n whatnot. I read some of it myself. I dunno when the rumors of Wentz not liking to be coached hard came about but I remember them. There was also the he holds the ball too long, takes too many risks talk . I believe there's some legitimacy in that. From all indications though, Wentz seems to be playing the part of a good team mate. All discussion about him from Skins team mates dating back to training camp is positive. Wentz also took the high road when Irsay started running his mouth. I doubt anyone would've faulted Wentz had he spoke on how he really felt about Irsay, at least in part.

Were there any Colts team mates who bad mouthed Wentz? if so I missed that. Cuz it wouldn't be off the wall if Wentz was rumbling about shitty protection......or crappy play calling......or Taylor's arm strength comparing to a 13 year old girl. I know that gets him labeled a shitty team mate and a me first player which would likely kill his career, especially that last complaint. But if he is that type of player, has some Jeff George or Terrell Owens in him. It's gonna come out. Or he has some outstanding sell control indeed.

Maybe Wentz would be willing to take a pay cut n if there was one thing the Skins have been extremely skillful in during the Snyder Era. Its cap management or cap manipulation or outright cap bullshit. I wouldn't be surprised in all 3 things have been used in the Snyder Era,

One of my best friends is a die hard Eagles fan from Philly. He says the team was split down the middle. Said Wentz had a core group of guys that he hung with and basically didn't talk to anyone else. Said half the locker room hated him and it got worse as the SB run went on. Said he was obviously pouting and there was speculation he was rooting against the team.

Here, he hosted Thanksgiving. JP and Peter Hailey to a man have stated Wentz the person is a really good dude.

I think Wentz is smart enough to know he doest have the clout to make waves and honestly I think he's probably matured in that area. He's really open about his faith in Christ now.

If we make a run with Wentz we'll have to give him the 28. If we make a run without him, I think his money goes to Payne and Heinicke.

If Heinicke plays hardball I could see them turning to Howell and then maybe, maybe Wentz comes back on the cheap cheap.

If we make a run with Heinicke and next year Wentz is here and Heinicke isn't, Ron will have some serious explaining to do.

With Young and Stroud out of reach I don't see anyone else that is head and shoulders above Howell.

Richardson from Florida might be tempting if he's there.
