Get ready for crazy rumor/speculation, and little action for the next 4 days.
It'll be fun no matter what, though.
Because no Jack Z.

I didn't realize it was right now either. I thought it was in December. Always makes for some interesting conversation and the rumors usually come in droves.
Yes you are right. I had confused them for the same thing.I think that is the baseball winter meetings and this is something different, but just as fun.
If you would believe the talking media heads, a lot of the transactions that transpire at the December winter meetings are actually set up at the November GM meetings. I guess it's possible but I personally think the GMs just use the GM meetings as an excuse to get away from their wives and party.I think that is the baseball winter meetings and this is something different, but just as fun.

Nothing will probably happen "at" the GM meetings but over the past couple years major signings have happened between the GM and Winter meetings. Cano being one example.
I'm hoping for another trade by the Winter meetings. I was a fan of the 6 player trade. Maybe a trade with the Padres to get Maurer back? lol.
I wouldn't have a problem getting draft pick comp. for Kuma. However I don't think that is going to happen.Tigers general manager Al Avila said Tuesday that the club will be in the mix for Hisashi Iwakuma.
The Tigers are expected to go after a couple starters this winter, and Iwakuma is a good start. The 34-year-old is coming off a 3.54 ERA over 20 starts this past season for the Mariners and shouldn't require a lengthy deal since he'll turn 35 next April. He will, however, cost the team that signs him a draft pick, as Seattle extended him a qualifying offer.
