We traded him. He was not lost by free agency. If we had kept him, we could have gotten a comp pick.If I'm not mistaken the comp criteria should be based off of his performance from this year? The entire comp pick smoke and mirrors is a mess anyway.
Regardless of his past, losing a 31 yo that did not play all year would not likely qualify us for comp pick.
If he plays well for Carolina and then gets signed for big money elsewhere, Carolina will potentially be eligble for losing him to free agency.
