I know you like being objective for the sake of conversation sty, but you do make it sound like you just don’t like Kirk and have said he can be easily replaced, if that’s how you feel that’s fine too. I’m just giving my opinion on why the team needs to get him signed.

They're so many rules it's hard to fault a young player to not know everyone, but to run a ball into the endzone on a punt is pretty bad, and I'm sure the embarrassment is still stinging him. When we play Dallas next thursday night we can't be doing stupid sheet like that.

So true. I posted that about marshals drop though, it says nothing about cousins int. Same thing we’ve been saying it was a bad throw but the int is on the receiver

Here's the thing, If there's a great catch like the one that J Doctson made previously the OK'er will say that Kirk placed the ball where ONLY his man could get it. Giving no credit to the extra effort made by the receiver to make a bad throw good. If it's intentional grounding then it becomes miscommunication from the sideline, not that the QB had any responsibility in assuring that the receiver got the sideline call as he did. How about a pick six not being a bad throw but a poor effort by a fully or nearly fully extended receiver.

I still want to know.....what does a bad pass look like when he's the QB? OK'ers??

You are FOS on this Sty. I just told you a couple of posts before you but I guess that wasn't good enough.

Here is one from someone that is not an OK'er Sty:

Giants LB Jonathan Casillas calls Kirk Cousins 'the real deal'

What cracks me up is the amount of Cousin's supporters on here saying it was not a good pass but it was catchable and you have spent three pages saying we aren't fair, aren't analytical and on and on. What is your point other than your 3 or 4 year crusade to minimize everything the guy has done?

Of course it wasn't, because it makes little sense that the QB position is as sheltered by BS explanations in this era.

Sorry I don't buy that. I read some today that now some folks are calling Dak a bust. Well that is just ridiculous. He got too much credit at first and now too much blame. The truth always lies somewhere in between

Oh I've said on many occasions that Kirk is a pretty good QB...missed that? He's a QB in a league that does everything in the world to both protect and glorify them. Just because I am not in line with that mindset doesn't change that fact. To be clear....I don't glorify QB's....period. Never have, Never will. Hell, when people say that Brady is the best ever, and I'm in that conversation...look for this response...."Yeah, of his generation" If that qualifies an taking a minimalistic stance, then I'm proud to say that I'm that!!

Now, in as much as that pass was concerned, I too said it was a bad pass, I disagreed that the INT was on Marshall. Why, because if not for the bad pass the rest doesn't happen as it did. I guess not wanting to read what my position has been from the beginning has skewed your perspective a bit, I understand.

If you don't buy that , then you clearly need more pocket change, or the ability to read my post in their entirety and in context.

Sty I haven't glorified a QB since I was a little kid. Hell I haven't glorified any athlete in many years. I was coached and played (not football) by one of the worlds great players at his sport. I learned everyone is just a guy. So I am not buying any of that either.

What do I see? I have said this many times. The best Redskin QB since Theismann except for maybe Trent Green. We have all seen our share of busts (Shuler and Griffin), bad and mediocre QBs. I would like to see us keep one that is competent.

I would love for us to keep one that is competent too. In fact, who was it that has been saying that he doesn't give a damn if Dan Snyder offered Kirk some portion of ownership for just over two years now?

Let's see.....Hmmmm?? I can't seem to recall his name!!

Let me be really clear on my position concerning Kirk Cousins.....I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER ABOUT HIM. CLEAR??? My concern is winning at least one or a few more SB's before check-out time. If that's with him...fine, If that's without him...fine!! I'm just not emotionally tied to this player or that one as I was in my youth.

In fact, I'm no longer emotionally tied to the team as I once was. Yes, its still my team ....my hometown team at that and I'll always support them, no matter what. Now, I realize that there's at least one poster here, who will write that I'm not a real fan, and that's fine. Just as long as that person and others know that they don't get to tell anyone how to be a fan/supporter/ follower based on his or her notions of what that should look like.

Blind loyalty is a real thing, I know, I was a crazed fool over this team in my youth, especially on game day. Told the family...."Don't fuck with me." and it got progressively worse the more they lost. So, no I'm no longer that guy because once I realized how out of character I had become, I quit being that guy.

Yes, I try to be as objective as possible and that's especially true with Cousins. I know that there's going to be some truly injured feelings if Kirk moves on. Some will declare a severance from this team, others like myself will realize that it's just not worth the emotional toll that has to be paid in continuing to tie themselves to every jacked up move made. Still others will continue and we'll have a fresh infusion of energetic followers. Truth is, as we go forward, we'll continue to support this team no matter who is at QB.

BTW: Objectively, He can be easily replaced without a major setback. (Thanks @Sportster 72 for the reminder)

I'll agree with you on one condition........That we give zero credit to the offensive system that J Gruden has installed or to the other high quality players working in this system. Zero credit.

Sadly Sty I think this thing has taken on too much of a life of its own. I think for two reasons, he replaced the promised child and the mishandling of his contract. Whether you are emotionally invested or just want the best for the team I don't see a reason not to root for the best players.

It is fine to critique any player whether you are knowledgeable or not. I think for me it is the chronic complainers. No matter what happens those folks are finding fault while never giving any credit. In the end to each his own. This is our watercooler to piss and moan or agree.

Again .... who is we? I see the value in Gruden. I am watching Joe Gibbs "A Football Life." Should Riggins get credit, should Doug Williams? You can go on and on.

I was responding to @dad, so, if what I suspect is true, the "we" in question related to he and I.

BTW: So glad that you mentioned Gibbs, who won with 3 different QB's, that kinda says that it was the system don't you think?? This seems to be something that some don't want to consider today. Think I'll refer to it as Kirk Love!!

The thing is Sty Gibbs adjusted with each team to the talent he had. Sure it has a ton to do with Gibbs or Gruden or Belicheck etc. But you have to have someone who can execute at a high level or the system fails. Team, team, team, team, team. It doesn't change my mind that you can put AJ McCarron behind the center and he will equal Kirk Cousin's. Could it? Sure, is it likely ... less sure.

Why didn't it work with Griffin and Gruden? if it is all system how come McCoy doesn't just replace Cousin's? So although Gruden has a good offensive system (some said it wasn't the same without McVay, not me) he needs someone to execute it. It isn't one or the other and it is also the other 10 guys.

I have heard a lot of reasons why he shouldn't be resigned (not lately) he can't improve ... he has and he will continue to ..... he can't extend plays .... he has shown that ability. I have a question for you. Who has been better than him since Sonny Jurgensen?

The QB today is far more important than it was in Gibbs’ era.
