Studs:
Trammell (I hope I am pronouncing that right) was big with a huge walk in the 8th and 10th and a great throw earlier nailing a runner at 2B.
Fraley had 3 walks and a HBP and one of the walks ws game winner.
Moore is just clutch and I need to start giving him more props.

Duds:
Marco was off
Montero did what he did in spring which isn't a good thing.
Hitters in the first 7 innings. Need a better start than that.

You're right on with Moore... When he came up to the plate, it gave me hope because he's been clutch in so many situations... Plus he puts the ball in play... I'd also give Haniger a "stud" label for the game with that game saving catch in RF...

What was it the 6th or 7th when Moore got his sac fly. He is a lot stronger than I realized. It takes a strong person to hit it to CF when his bat completely shattered the way it did.

What the H....a W is a W. Offense was missing for most of the game but a big thank you to SF's pitching. We didn't win that game......SF just lost the game. :pound: Trammell is gonna be fun to watch and can't wait for Lewis and Kelenic to hit the ground.

Hell of a way to start the season!

Pretty lackluster for most of the game as Gausman was nails against our lineup, but then the blown showed up and it was on. It's only one game but I do like the grit that this team has already shown in one game. That was a steep hill time climb and they did it, great start!

You nailed it. I thought the same about Haniger and is catch. That was a game saver right there and not an easy play. Those are the kind of plays that don't show up in the boxscore but wins games.

One other Dud for me was White's Ab in the 8th when he swung at a 3-2 pitch a foot inside that would have walked in a run. You can't be fooled that badly in that situation.

Kikuchi is hanging in there tonight against these guys. It's nice to see him staying somewhat calm and not falling apart in the first couple innnings. Tremmell has been awesome with his defense in the outfield tonight. Gonna be fun watching the young talent grow with this team. I still want to get Lewis back out there sooner rather than later. Heal fast dude. :thumb:

This is bullshit. Servais is pulling the same old shit when dealing with the pitching staff. Sits on his ass and waits for the walks to pile up and a couple runs to cross the plate before he yanks the pitcher. Some things never change I guess. What a way to kill the energy. :amen:

To make you eat those words.
He has the best arm with the worst performance package in baseball. Just when you think he has turned the corner, he implodes enough to let the opponent back into a game. I hope things change for him, but year 3 looks a lot like year 1 and 2.

I wonder how many seasons the Stros will have to hear about their cheating before something else takes the limelight. :noidea: :pound:
Hopefully until MLB pulls what they did with the AS game and pull their championships.

agreed..on flexen...if he can build on that..the mariners will have another good starter

on kikuchi..10 Ks..is good...2HRs..is bad..but kikuchi ..can build on..what he did in his first game..so..i will try to..see his next one

this is the idea of kikuchi in the#2 rotation spot is..he has a different look..to his pitching style...than gonzales or..lets say paxton..
or even Nick Margevicius 52...all LHP...so..sense..they have so many LHP...they put gonzales then kikuchi as a diff ..look to a hitter
as #2..then just go on with the normal rotation
solves..a 6 man rotation..lite on right handed pitchers....yeah...its good

this is for all the mariners pitchers..not just kikuchi..a 4.00..era..is..aaaahh...just ok..above that is border bad..4.50..is red lineing
anything below..a 4.00..is good
