League average for being in nickel last year was 60% of the time.

That means we will be in our "base" 3-4 less than half of the time.

I would like to see them use a 3-3-5 nickel with this personnel in the front 6:

DL: Graham - Cox - Curry
LB: Kiko - Kendricks - Barwin

Very creative. Who knows with the chipster? You could be right. Who would be the nickle - Boykin I guess? If he's not here then maybe Rowe?

Boykin thinks he has a legit shot at starting opposite from Maxwell from what Chip told him this off season. I'll believe it when I see it though. With the outright refusal to start him during the shit show that was the CB position last year. I would love to see Boykin, Maxwell, Jenkins and Rowe starting in the back half with Thurmond or Carroll as the nickle back.

There is an article on Philly.com today that suggests that Nolan Carroll is winning the battle for the other starting corner spot. Which will probably be to the chagrin to Boykin but the team seriously needs to put the best players out there and the competition is now fierce from what I hear.

I think size is Boykin's biggest adversary. Carroll has 3 inches on him. Size me the determining factor on why Boykin remains the nickel back.

I still think Rowe starts at corner when all is said and done. Carroll looked good in mini camp last year too. He is a Na Brown...

Think it's clear that they are still 1 player short in the secondary. Rowe and Maxwell should go a long way this year. But next year they need to get another top end talent at safety if Rowe shows he can stick at corner.
