Well, 14, 03, 01, 96. So 4-4 on opening day in their SB seasons I believe.. I wonder, if that's an exaggeration, what team has lost more opening games in seasons they made the SB... Can you find any team that lost more? Because if that is the most losses in a SB season by any team in NFL history, it's kinda like saying Tony Gonzalez made the pro-bowl for the umpteenth time.



Either way it isn't that big for either team. It'll be hyped like it is... Just like everyone hypes pre-season through that. But it's a non-conference opponent in week 1. Pretty much the least important game of the year. Come playoff time I don't think they'll be going into the NFC playoffs thinking "man we are done for, we lost to NE 4 months ago".

As for Jimmy he's got a great situation. A really well built team that knows their roles. A willing mentor in Brady not worried about his own job to learn from all off-season. A very good staff. And could be playing for a monster deal (SF maybe?) in a trade before the start of next season.
