This is the pirates... not likely to happen... MLB and ESPN want the Washington franchise to succeed...Big tv media market... So yeah they will get hype when a young phenom comes up... Not the same ball of wax in Pittsburgh.

Not sure if this kid is ready... But I am nervous and or excited all the same.
Hi guys. Anybody, at all, worried about the service time issue? I would feel better about this move if it was like the 3rd week of June or later.
Are the Pirates still assured of the extra yr of team control on Cole, by bringing him up this soon?
I know that this idea is not great reasoning in developing a players career path. However, it is an aspect of things all small market teams must take in to account.

PS Which members on our site, have tickets to see Cole pitch in his first game tomorrow night?
I think it's great that he's finally ready for ML duty at exactly the same time that he's past the cutoff for super 2 status. Perfect timing. Almost as if it was planned this way.
The bright side - he's going to get a better defense behind him and he'll get to learn from Searage and Burnett.
That said - I expect him to get bombed tomorrow. It seems to be a pattern with him. Get too excited, overthrow, fastball flattens out and gets too high in the zone.
Pirates fans have every reason to be very excited about this guy. Does he have any breaking stuff, though?
