With our elimination number at 5 and only 4 games to go before the doggie series, I am officially becoming a bad Giants fan for the next few days. The dogs have 4 games as well, so there are 8 outcomes left to lose 5 games.

I OPENLY and BLATANTLY want the Giants to lose and the dogs to win this weekend so that they are unable to celebrate at AT&T next week.
Maybe you'd like a lineup of:
3b - Tomlinson
2b - Frandsen
cf - DeAza
rf - Parker
lf - Williamson
1b - Brown
ss - Noonan
c- Williams
p - Cain

I want the A-Team out there tonight, for Bum. and I want our A-Team out there against the dogs, regardless.

But I am OK with that lineup for all the other games.

We officially live on, for a few more hours, in the 2nd wild card spot, as the Cubs just lost to the Pirates.

Another milestone for Bumgarner to aim for, per ESPN:

Madison Bumgarner was responsible for every home run hit by Giants pitcher between September 2012 and the end of August this year. Since then, four other Giants pitchers have homered. If MadBum rakes again before October, San Francisco would have the first staff in the live ball era to have all five starters homer in the same month. September History Watch

Maybe another item the Giants could aim for? - Tank to get a secured draft pick.
That would be huge, but I am not sure it is possible.

Its the 10 worst right? Here's that "pennant" race:
1 - Philadelphia 58-96
2 - Atlanta 62-92
3 - Cincinnati 63-90
4 - Colorado 64-90
5 - Oakland 64-89
6 - Milwaukee 65-89
7 - Miami 67-87
t8 - Detroit 72-81
t8 - San Diego 72-81
10 - White Sox 73-81
t11 - Boston 73-80 0.5 GB
t11 - Arizona 73-80 0.5 GB
13 - Tampa 75-79 2 GB
14 - Baltimore 76-77 3.5 GB
15 - Cleveland 76-76 4.5 GB
t16 - Washington 78-75 5.5 GB
t16 - Minnesota 78-75 5.5 GB
18 - Anaheim 78-74 6 GB
t19 - Houston 80-74 7 GB
t19 - San Francisco 79-73 7 GB

Gah! We're about as far back on that as we are on the real pennant. Does that make the season even worse?

"Worst" we can do is 79-83. Assuming perfection (the teams "ahead" of us that can be overtaken all win out), we would have the #8 pick.

So, yeah...

Not possible.

Man, I didn't realize how far the Astros have fallen. Also, no wonder the Mets look so good, 3 of the "top" 7 teams are in the East. Jesus they're bad.

This just in. Fuck the Dodgers. ;)

Hopefully, we can at least make them sweat and work hard for it.

They played their C-squad yesterday. They WANT to celebrate at AT&T.

While I hate that as a Giants fan, if I were to step away and look at it with unbiased eyes, that is GREAT move on their part. Way to play into the rivalry.

Those bastards.

I wanted us to be eliminated before this series, to prevent this situation. As it is, we now have to sweep the dogs in order to prevent them from celebrating at China Basin.
