Today's lineup:

CF Torres
2B Sanchez
1B Huff
LF Ross
RF Schierholtz
SS Tejada
3B DeRosa
C Whiteside
P Cain

Miggy gets a nod from Boch for his breakout game last night???

DeRo back in, Fonty cooling off.

Still no Batrick, he's 0-5 vs. Hudson whereas Nate is 0-1. Cain is a flyball pitcher so the OF D makes a lot of sense.

Nobody with ownage on Hudson aside from Freddy.

Drew, Nady, Upton hit Cainer well. They're AZ's 3/4/5 today.

Fuck it, 3-1 Giants and DeRo is the hero....

Never thought I'd write this, but I'm actually happy to see Tejada in the lineup. Let's hope he keeps finding holes out there.

My wife's at the game, so let's hope it's 11-0 Giants in the 6th, so she can pull a Dodger-fan move (leave early) and get home and cook me dinner.

If we were not sure before, here is definitive proof that Mrs. Coby is NOT a regular on this board...

Tejada's been looking better these past few games. He's had more than a few line drives that were right at an outfielder and showing signs of life.

My favorite part was when he yelled at Sanchez to get his arse in the game. It may sound borderline racist but I think the Giants need a latino elder statesman- a void that Renteria, Uribe, and even Molina left last year to keep guys like Sanchez focused.

Not racist at all....it stands to reason that other latino players would respond to one of their teammates when he yells at them in Spanish -- probably more effective than Huffy screeching in trailerparkese.

If he ends up hitting a little worse than last year, which is what can be reasonably projected (a year older), he has a lot of catching up to do which means some more good games.

Will the DumDums still want Reyes? Yeah, probably.

So, with Cain pitching tonight, will the Giants get ho-hit, or just shut-out?

I don't think recognizing the cultural importance of an older brother/father figure is racist. It would be racist to assume that the only players capable of the types of meltdowns that Sanchez has are latino. You certainly weren't saying that, and it would be completely false. A shared experience that comes with a similar background and language at home is something that can certainly be beneficial for a young player. That said, I think Tejada's upbringing was probably very different from Sanchez's, but the core familial experience was likely, at least, somewhat similar.

All in all, I think this team has become a family itself, regardless of past experiences, so anyone calling Durty out might have the same effect. Miggy is a new voice and a respected veteran, so that might carry just as much, if not more, weight than the words being said with an accent.

If I didn't believe you were vying for reverse-jinx of the day, I would hate you right now. That was too strong. I would have a strong distaste for your post. That better?

The lines for what's considered racist nowadays have been blurred so many times over.. just treading on the side of caution.

While I do agree that many things may be different from both Sanchez and Tejada's upbringings .. like tzill alluded to earlier, there's just something about getting cursed at in your own language that makes you pay extra attention..lol

this Giants lineup betta have their money

I like to call this the "who wants more playing time" lineup. I've never seen a hot hitting DeRosa before, but I have heard many tales about it.

ok, that's my guy today.. DeRosa

This, from Baggs today:

— Jonathan Sanchez tied for the team lead with his third win. And I believe he also made history in the first inning when he showed signs of familiar wildness and inspired a fan to stand up behind home plate and yell, “PUT IN ZITO!” That’s not one you hear often here.

Question: how the hell did Marcus get seats that good?

This game just has the feel of Hudson throwing a gem....let's just hope the lads can be patient at the plate:

Andy: patient, and warm
Freddy: semi-patient, hitting OK
Huff: patient, heating up
Ross: ditto
Nate: patient, hitting OK
Miggy: hacker, heating up
DeRo: patient, cold
Whitey: OK, cold
Cain: has some power....

Cmon boys...make Hudson work.

Oh, yeah. I liked seeing the high fastball as the other out pitch, too. He is going to be awesome.

Yeah, that high fastball was really impressive. My first thought when seeing the curve was that it looked telegraphed, and it wasn't going to be strike from the moment it left his hand - mlb players will spit on those.

Actually let me amend that - rowand and nate would hack at that curve.

Well put, and might I add: Hahahahahaha.

Have you gotten to see Wheeler's change-up, gp? Does he have one? I haven't noticed it any video footage. I've been trying to get up to San Jose to see him in person, but it seems he rarely pitches on weekends that I'm available. It appears he is a great third pitch away from the Bigs, which could end up being a change, slider, splitter or more deceptive curve.
