You might be right, but the advantage is always to the guy who is moving and Torres is pretty well-built. With amount of speed Torres has, he could put a lot of force on a hit. Probably too much risk for injury, though. I asked not because I thought Torres should have opted for that, but because I am not sure what the rule is on that kind of play. I know you can blow up a catcher, but can you blow up a non-catcher on a play at the plate?
Not in my experience. If you're ready for it, the bigger guy is going to win.
