That's a weird promotion, the 9 months after baby thing...

That's not fair to the people who were already pregnant when the Giants won the WS.

Possible replacements this season:

- Ronny Paulino
- Ramon Hernandez
- Yorvit Torrealba

I would have done the Casilla for Torrealbla deal. Wasn't the holdup next year's money? Although there might have been something more than that.... Sabean does not players who talk too much.

man, not trying to be the second guesser, but Panda just worked the count full to a guy who threw 25+ pitches.

Fleming pretty much called Torres an idiot for going.

The problem was that he hesitated. He makes it if he would have trusted his instincts right away.

Question: Are you allowed to blow up the pitcher in that situation?

that's what I like about Fleming - he's not afraid to talk down a Giants player when he makes a questionable move.

Looks like Nate plugged the hole down and in, and opened one up high and over the plate.

Qualls looks like a big buffalo of a guy - I don't think Torres would be doing much blowing up :)

For al the talk of Cain's lack of run support, he was given two leads tonight, and gave them both back with poor pitching.

I hate losing to the Padres. (Disclaimer: if the score remains as is, I know we get to face Bell. Perhaps the Padres' all-star pitcher can pitch like the last two of the Giants' all-star pitchers and surrender a bunch of hits and the lead.)

Yeah, Flem pointed that out. And, yes, if anyone is blocking the plate you can do some damage (or they have the rep for blocking the plate). Although, there isn't much a little guy like Torres can do against Qualls - he's like 6'5" 240.

You might be right, but the advantage is always to the guy who is moving and Torres is pretty well-built. With amount of speed Torres has, he could put a lot of force on a hit. Probably too much risk for injury, though. I asked not because I thought Torres should have opted for that, but because I am not sure what the rule is on that kind of play. I know you can blow up a catcher, but can you blow up a non-catcher on a play at the plate?

Was that retaliation for the ball spike?
