This is the type of article that cold make it tough for the G's to have a chance to resign the guy (not that I disagree with the article, mind you).

I guess if I had to choose, I would rather not have him back. His defense is not great. He is 34 and wants a lot of years and money. And he does not like it at AT&T. He does not appear to be a clubhouse leader (like Huff and Burrell were last year.) Why would we want him around? Just so Sabean can say he has been scalped by Bor-a$$ again? No thanks.

This is the type of article that cold make it tough for the G's to have a chance to resign the guy (not that I disagree with the article, mind you).

It's not always obvious what the FO is going to do with a guy or not do with another guy, but us not re-signing Beltran is, to me, one of the most obvious moves that is (not) coming. Like a total lead pipe cinch. Doesn't matter what Baggs writes or what Marcus yells at Beltran outside his hotel, we never had the slightest intention of bidding on him.

The only thing that would have changed my mind on this is a deep run in the playoffs fueled by his leadership and bat.

To put it mildly, that did not happen.
