I think that on a team where on of their own has been "asleep" since last January and we are concerned about concussions and head shots, the celebration was unwarranted and looks really bad. However, Asham owned it and I repect him for that.

As for the fight? It was unwarranted, stupid and Letang is a little bitch. Asham had ~80 fights going into last night in his NHL career. Beagle had 1. Hell, Letang had like 7-8. Asham beat up a non-fighter kid. In a situation like that, maybe Letang should be doing the fighting. If it was Erskine or Hendricks I can see Asham doing it, but the "reason" for the fight was soooo lame, as eloco said, and the fight was significantly unfair.

Sorry. No such thing, if you lace em up you better be ready for the whole nine yards. Beagle could have skated away, he choose to fight, got his ass knocked the fuck out and that was that. The gesture wasn't unclassy, it was funny..

Maybe unfair in fight experience... But Beagle totally cheap shotted Letang after Letang laid a clean hit. I've watched it numerous times and saw no cheap hit from Letang to warrant taking a glove to the face. Maybe it wasn't Asham's fight, but expect retribution when you play that game.

Fighting is a circus act and side show. Not everyone trains for that "highly skilled" part of the sport. Career fighter beats up guy that doesn't fight = pussy and ghey, and this is coming from someone who has done it.

Unfortunately in todays hockey, yes. I believe a man should fight his own battles. And I am completely for fighting in hockey, and always will be. But, the sport has shifted towards other guys answering for other players, and scrums after every SOG and clean hit. It sucks, and I dont think it is going to change. So instead of complain about it... It is what it is.
