Jesus, for all the tough guy talk, I swear hockey fans are the biggest pussies in all of sports. The "real" fans who can't take any criticism of their precious sport and must call out the fact that everyone who disagrees with them only discovered hockey with Crosby and Ovechkin can all suck a dick. You know what? I've never played hockey. I have no idea how to skate. Those of you who did, great...but you know what that gives you over me? NOTHING. I played baseball through high school, and I play softball now. That does not give me any real perspective on what the players in the MLB playoffs are going through. It's such a different level that it may as well be a different sport. So all of you touting your past playing experiences can again suck a dick.

And for the record, I'm torn on the fighting issue. I freely admit that I like to watch it, but I don't think it needs to be there. And as for Asham, I really don't have a problem with what he did either. So he gave the "sleeping" sign...so what? It's not like him doing that hurt Beagle any more than he already was. If we're going to allow the spectacle of fighting, fine, but then don't limit the showmanship that goes with it. He just knocked the piss out of a guy, I can't blame him for being pumped and playing it up a little.

Lol, good morning! I just get a little amped up when people get holier than thou about sports. I love all sports (well, most of them anyway), and I want to encourage as many people to love all sports as well. The "you can't know it as well as I do" arguement from fans turns people off, and that kills me.

it should be interesting what Shanaban decides to do. They sent out a league video to the players with a hole bunch of examples of "gestures" that shouldnt be made on ice after Wiz did his pole smoking move

its the funny hypocrisy of the NHL though, that they allow guys to punch each other in the head but after a fight if you do a throat slash or challenge other players by pointing at them and saying stuff like "youre fuckin next" theres an "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalty.

Im thinking its a certainty that Asham will get a $2500 fine ... dont know if there will be more?

really? Lucic got fined last year for merely pointing at the opposition bench after a fight ... Asham will get a fine ... he got the nhl back on sportscenter last night for all the wrong reasons and the NHL doesnt like shit like that
