Folks, helluva game, I was sure the Broncos had it in the bag. I swear the friggin Steelers WILL put me in cardiac arrest one day. Best of luck moving forward, hope you smack the Bengals around:suds::yo::salute:
Thanks to you and MISKO. My nephew (in Irwin) just called. He said it was an ugly first half. I said it was an ugly second half. All a matter of perspective. ;)

I think we can beat Cincy here in 8 days. That will give us #2 seed. But I'm quite sure either the 5th or 6th seed will advance at least to the AFC Championship. And meet up with the Pats.

It just seemed like anything that could go wrong at the worst times did in the 2nd half. Defensive holding on a Pittsburgh 3rd and 20, Harris getting absolutely roasted all night, Davis and Thomas both with HUGE drops again late in the game, and so on......

Add to the fact this is surely going to stir more Manning coming back debates. That's gonna make this loss even more gag inducing throughout the week.

Soft offensive scheme . soft coaching in the 2nd half of 3 straight game.
Have ZERO confidence that Kubiak can lead this team. The NFL is we know anything is that the injury bug will bite.

I hope Kubiak doesn't get a free pass this year. Elway created this mess . He thought about letting Foxy go afte the SB in 2013 and didn't pull the trigger only to let him go a year later. He asks Manning for a $10MM pay cut and settles for $4 MM and a mis match offensive system

Plus the players. Your stars have to make plays in big games IN BIG MOMENTS. Seems the fan care more about winning than the players on offense.

27 in the first half . Should lead to 40 by games end. Everyone will blame the defense but when the offense is going 3 and out 5 startight times and taking 2 minutes off the clock, the D is going to wear down then they give you the ball on the 40 with 2 minutes to go and you crap your pants in two straight drives to end the game.

It's tough to watch.

Couldn't agree more. Don't bash Elway though he can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.

I'm still in awe at how we looked so damn good in the first half, and complete ass in the 2nd.

No doubt about that. Wish our players on the sideline had been as heads up as Jordan Norwood was on his punt return. Can't believe that the refs even saw that, since our bench was on the opposite side of the field as the play.

Kicking and screaming? Not seeing much of that the last 3 games.
Winners find a way to win. Losers find a way to lose.
Ozwieler had a great opportunity to take a step and prove he's the QBOTF. Instead he's just another guy.

Good game gentlemen! :suds:

Thought it was going to be a blowout heading into halftime, but credit to DC Butler & Co for making a lot of good adjustments.

Not that my words carry much weight, or that I can speak for him specifically, but I apologize for Wallace. That was, in every sense of the phrase, a cheap shot. Not sure which guy he hit trying to "clear the pile", but there's no excuse for that kind of douchebaggery. That was a joke, and embarrassing.

I was also a little embarrassed by Ben's flop on that 3rd (or 4th qtr?) drive where he drew the 15-yd penalty off your D. But only a little lol. :heh:

Exciting game! Good luck the rest of the way, and we'll possibly be seeing you guys again in the postseason! :thumb:

Bash him for what? Taking the reins of a 4-12 team with zero life in it and guiding it to 4 straight division titles and a Super Bowl? Good luck with that one.

I'm not the only one that feels that way. Read earlier post. Read the Mile High report . There are many fans that are not happy with all his decisions and direction this team is going at this time but of course I'm the one that gets pointed out. I feel the love. Until this core team wins a Super Bowl (maybe this year with some luck) then get back to me. God forbid if I blame Elway for some of the current problems with this roster and coaching staff. I don't put it all on him but it does start from the top. That's just reality and the way it is. When and if the Broncos win it all with Elway as the top decision maker I will give him all the props he deserves. Championships is all that matters in the end. That's how I look at it. You all have the right to disagree and if you are happy with a good record and no Super Bowl victory at the end of the year so be it. Hopefully this is the year.

It's not all on him Notice the first half they ran the ball well enough and no penalties and good o line play then Denver scores points and the defense is well rested and everything is looking good. When you have holding calls, drops, penalties, missed blocking assignments and a rush in your face due to the lack of a running game and no roll out or play action you don't score in the second half. It's actually a pretty simple concept.

You watch to much ESPN. Teams win and lose games not just QB's. I also think it was his 5th start only in the NFL and I didn't hear much complaining about Brock in the first half. Brock had his mistakes and that's expected from a guy who is on his 5th start but the team as a whole has to pick it up. The o line play, penalties, drops, lack of running game, play calling, isn't all on Brock. It's a pretty simple concept as well. this team still can get the 2 seed but if the o line doesn't pick it up and they get no running game going games like the last few weeks will happen.

I agree with you

In reality though

Elway won't fire his buddy anytime soon. I never liked the Kubes hire from day 1. Regardless of my view I think we should wait 12 months from now to see how much growth O as a whole makes or not.

I think fans who wanted Fox gone wanted or expected an upgrade hire not a lateral hire. This team needs a leader who can get them to play at a high level when games are on the line. Not trip over themselves all the time. Esp a team talented enough in most spots to win a SB.

I'm not so sure it's preparing for the game - as shown by the four TD first half today. My greater concern is the total lack of adjustments at halftime as shown by no TDs in the second half of the last three games. Not sure if they can't or just won't. But that's a concern.

Well, all those other people are wrong too. I say Elway is doing significantly better than 80-85 percent of his fellow GM's. People these days are way too impatient and want perfection or nothing. Well, be prepared for a LONG wait, because you're not going to get that.

Elway has turned this franchise around from being a losing team to a consistent winner. That's what a GM is supposed to do. The team has a good amount of talent. The GM is the one to bring that talent in house. The GM is the general. He sets the direction the team should go in, and does his best to find the best pieces. If people don't like the direction of the team, perhaps they prefer we become like the Browns or Lions? Maybe we can be more like the Cowboys with a GM who micro manages?

Elway was trying to build a team with the talent to win a Super Bowl. Well, he's got a team that's at least in contention. That's all you can ask of a good GM. I swear, some people want too much perfection, and start calling for people's heads when the slightest thing goes wrong. That's not how you run a successful football team. That's how you get a team like the Browns or the Lions, or the Raiders (look how long it took them to improve things there.) So no. Right now it's too early, and Elway has brought too much success to the Broncos for me to blame him or dislike the direction. Because if you don't like the direction the team has taken the past 4 years, the only REAL alternative back into the pits of futility.

Come back to me when we start losing more talent than we gain, and start stringing together losing seasons. THEN, I will consider blaming Elway. But at the moment I don't fault him for the direction of the team. Not very many GM's enjoy the same success he had had, and I refuse to toss that into the dumpster as easily as some others would. That's the quickest way to turn a good team into a perpetual loser.

Didn`t read all the other posts but SS hit the nail on the head. For some reason and for so long, this team has been terrible with halftime adjustments. It`s a real head scratcher. I would like someone to look up how many times Denver has played 2 solid halfs in a game in last 5 yrs. I`ll just bet you can count them on one hand. I give up trying to understand it. No lead is safe with Denver. :(
