I love how Scheifele is the one who gets pickpocketed by Ghost before G scores the OT winner. Fuck him...lol

Massive two points, because Detroit is going to get them also, barring some kind of a miracle.

I think it's also really nice that the Caps clinched the President's Trophy. They will literally have zero to play for against us on Wednesday.

Holy shit. Anxious moments in Detroit. They were up 3-0 with an empty netter. Now after 2 goals in a minute by Buffalo, it's 3-2 with a minute and a half left.

Not really concerned about that. For two full seasons we've often struggled with non-playoff teams and often performed well against playoff teams. While in a playoff series, we'll be playing a playoff team...

We had a great road trip and ran into a hot goalie on the last game of the road trip. It would've been nice to get any points in that game but we still had a really good trip. Last night the first game back coming off an extended trip changing time zones is the hardest. They looked like they were dead tired. I expect they get back to playing three zone hockey starting tomorrow.

i actually thought they played OK, they just couldn't score. We've talked about that as an issue for a few years now, they don't have a guy that can score an easy goal with a nice shot, consistently. they gotta work for almost every goal.

i thought for the most part they carried the play last night. which they should have.

We definitely were handling them for long stretches, they were just hanging around. I'm not concerned with the effort so much. We deserved to get the win and I'm just thrilled that it didn't go to a shootout as well.

Rewatched the game...
For a team that was pretty much skating in quicksand it was much better than I thought.
Cooter had an absolutely incredible game. He really imposed his will when on the ice.
G, concussed or not, is clearly banged up and still raises up.
Ghost is simply incredible. His defensive game is subtly better than advertised. His offensive instincts are incredible....and he is all about winning first and stats second.

Ghost is just going to be a star in this league if he stays healthy. Nice win as usual. Since we only have Stolarz as the back-up to Mason, the Flyers are giving Emery a try-out.
