Hopefully he's actually ok - unfortunately, I seriously doubt it. I'm surprised neither Gudas nor Hanzal are getting some time off.
I thought Gudas' momentum carried him into the corner in which Doan was against the boards in an awkward position where as Hanzal just out and out did it on purpose.

Funny, I thought the opposite - Hanzal's was more of a moderate shove that unfortunately caught Giroux in an awkward position, whereas the initial hit by Gudas was clean but the follow-up elbow to the head was more dirty than what Hanzal did. Doesn't really matter at this point. Here's to hoping both Giroux and Doan are truly ok. :suds:

And PS, both Gudas and Hanzal should be suspended at least a game if not ... well, a lot. If the league really wants to crack down the best way is to suspend the players who show that they don't respect the other players on the ice. Hanzal has a reputation for taking advantage of players in exposed situations. His hit on Giroux was not dramatic or appeared vicious, but when you shove a player in the back with your feet engaged in that position you know very well what you are doing. As for Gudas....his reputation proceeds him. Really isn't a lot else to say about that.
