Big team effort here. 12 different players with a point. It's nice to have a game where we seriously pad the stats after one in which we did the opposite. We closed them out pretty well in the third period too, including killing off that double minor penalty to preserve the shutout. A really nice way for Mason to return. He was hardly tested in this one.

Also, the Pens somehow lose to Calgary and we're in business here. Only 3 back of them and 4 back of Detroit with plenty of games against those teams to make it up.

For whatever reason, Columbus had been beating us a lot lately, so this feels really good.

Nice to see them not just beat a team that is below them in the standings but to actually take it to them, let's not get used to it though - the schedule gets extremely tougher going forward and I question the consistency of this team so they're going to have to earn it in the next few weeks

Got a point Cobiemonster. The schizophrenic nature of the team can be maddening but maybe, just maybe the Flyers are turning a corner on consistency as well. Operative word here is "maybe".

Don't worry, I'll be sure not to get too overly excited about our chances moving forward....Lol

I believe in this team and meanwhile, I think they've already far exceeded your expectations.

I realize that the next 2 to 3 games (and more) will be a serious challenge, but no matter what happens in them, it looks like we'll be getting Voracek back by the time we start playing Detroit and Pittsburgh. I like our chances then. We get to show them what we're really made of and we control our own destiny without question.

Yes and aside from Del Zotto, I expect to have a healthy team by the time we play those games. It's been while since we had everyone else healthy and rolling.
