I choose to focus on the positives going into this week.

1. Kerby Joseph looks like a good player
2. We have 1 linebacker that can diagnose a play! I have been able to say that like twice in 40 years
3. Holmes has to be aware that if he ignores the defense again that his tenure is done, so maybe we get some Corners in the offseason
4. Will Anderson jr!!!!!!!

Lions’ Jack Fox signed through 2026, becomes highest-paid punter

The Detroit Lions locked up All-Pro punter Jack Fox with a new 3-year contract extension.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Detroit Lions have signed punter Jack Fox to a three-year extension worth $11.325 million with $7.5 million guaranteed. That average of $3.775 million a year just edges out Seattle punter Michael Dickson’s $3.675 million as the highest average amongst any NFL punter.

Defensive lineman Josh Paschal and cornerback Jerry Jacobs have been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list and are now eligible to make their season debuts against the Dallas Cowboys.

Lions have restructured Halapoulivaati Vaitai’s contract in order to free up $2.42 million in cap space.

The Lions have had to get creative with their salary cap this season, mainly because of the number of players who have landed on injured reserve, reserve/PUP, and reserve/NFI lists. At this time, the Lions have over $35 million wrapped up in these lists (with the Vaitai adjustment removed) and have spent another $1.5 million on injury settlements.

Before this restructuring, the Lions had an estimated $2 million in available cap space per OverTheCap.com, and that amount should grow to roughly $4.4 million. But that number is not settled by any means and could change very soon.
