As others have pointed out, this really was a case of winning on all fronts but the score board. If the Flyers were not in a position where they need to win in regulation against virtually everyone, this would be on to mark down as "one of those nights" and move on.

This is exactly why we cant have the losses to the Buffalo's and Edmonton's and Calgary's of the world early in the season. If we win those games we chalk this one up as one of those night's. Im so mad we lost that game last night after how we dominated.

We completely dominated this game start to finish. Perhaps our best effort all season long. Two very lucky bounces and Neuvy literally handing them a goal are the only reasons we gave up anything. Then Ward stood on his head virtually the entire game to keep us from scoring.

The end result is an absolute joke.

This. Flyers dominated all night. 3 very lucky goals for the Canes, which is unfortunate. And you hate to say 'we played great BUT'. That's why you can't afford to start the season the way the Flyers started. You're going to have games like last night, it's just the way it is, but in the Flyers situation it kills you.
