One would think/hope the program has reached bottom. It's been a long 15 year slide.

i'll probably watch on tape delay. i'm not normally superstitious, but we seem to play better if i don't watch it live.

my other choice, if i found some really cheap seats, i was debating taking the family. We've never lost a game that i've attended, so there is that.

Jesus, this state needs a football game to happen already. Can we actually talk about on field stuff for a change?

In a game that is a must win Nebraska's shit show of an o-line will be reshuffled again. True frosh Brenden Jaimes will be starting at right tackle. Mike Decker will be starting at Center as well for Cole Conrad. Let's up this starting lineup is the winning combo.

I'm excited to see what Jaimes can do and hoping some new young blood in that offensive line can light a fire.

Stanley Morgan is also highly questionable
Tre Bryant is still out
Josh Kalu out
Marcus Newby out

A tidbit: Eichorst wanted to hire Mike Riley when Eichorst was at South Carolina. South Carolina hired Spurrier instead. At the time, Eichorst did not have enough pull at South Carolina to get the go ahead.

I will be driving home at this time. My wife will be in charge of finding the game on satellite radio.

Please beat the Scarlet Knights. The previous coach did it.

Riley has lost to illinois, Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Ohio State during his tenure at Nebraska. Let us hope that Riley does not add Rutgers, Penn State, and Minnesota to the list. The power of positive thinking.

Riley currently owns the lost then found Minnesota Broken Chair with the Jerry Kill and Bo Pelini bills removed. More than likely this was an Eichorst move to lose it then market it.

So much momentum crushed from the Spring Game through Summer Camps.

It's Rutgers but we are still the team that shoots ourself in the foot every time we get momentum. More passion, more desire, same coaches. 28-24 (14 points from pick 6's)

Game 4. Time to bounce off the depths of hell and put things together. Defense needs to continue improvement. Offense needs to get past whatever fucky shit plagued them last week. Special teams need to play smarter.
Finish the last nine (6-3) with a big upset along the way.

Such an odd feeling of wanting to watch but at the same time not wanting to watch
this.

i tried rewatching the NIU game last night as my wife was working and the kids were in bed. i couldn't get through the 1st Q. the mistakes by every single person, from DL to TL to the o-line. just too many to count. i knew the outcome, but i was just yelling at the damn screen because of some of the shitty play calling. NIU had no respect for a deep ball and it was there, TL misfired high on one (it was the 2nd or 3rd drive). I hadn't noticed it live, but TL was definitely locking onto certain receivers and not going through progressions. several plays where he actually had time and didn't bother to look around. there was one play that really pissed me off, i should have taken a gif. Gates is getting beat and we have both a TE and a RB in position to help, but the TE for some reason vacates the pocket (looked like his primary responsibility was to help protect and if he didn't need to he was to release as an outlet) and the RB chose to help someone in less trouble than Gates. i still can't understand how the TE didn't help Gates out, i watched it like 4 or 5 times, just mind blowing. NIU constantly had the box stacked against our OL, we could have ran against it for some big gains, but no one did much to drive anyone off the ball. their DL did exactly what it was supposed to do and forced our RB right into the unblocked man.

I keep getting nervous about these changes to the O-line tomorrow but then I stop myself and say, it can't be any worse than it was last week.

Or can it?

At worst Nebraska remains in the depths of hell. Win or lose, if the W is within 10 it's still the depths of hell. Now that Eichorst cannot protect his investment, I'm prepared for whatever happens the rest of the season. Stress level 1/10.

This game could very well decide the future of these coaches here if it's not been written already, maybe this is just what they need
