I'm glad Gronk has been ruled out. Get that hammy 100% healthy.

Solder being out is huge. Pats start season 0-1.

Solder not playing is the big issue here. We can get by with Marty, Harbor, Derby. Mason/Karras will be fine. Not having Solder is a big loss and changes things big time. Now we have to keep help in for either Fleming or Waddell.

New NE game plan, designed QB runs. I think Jimmy G may be running for his life in this one anyway. That or Blount really needs to have a good game. Good luck Pats:hope:

This is all on the OL now. I can see tons of screens and stuff like that. I really don't think Blount will have much of an impact on this game. The game plan now: Don't turn the ball over Jimmy.

Maybe this is what the teams needs. No Brady, No Gronk, No Solder, No Cooper. I can hear BB talking ti the team now......."Time to buck up cupcakes. All you backups have an opportunity to replace the guys who can't play. If you can't, maybe it's time to find something else to do, because I will find someone who can do it."

I think the Pats have to play harder on offense and the defense just has to play like they've played in the preseason. The Cardinals will be pumped because they'll think this will be a easy win. Make it harder than they think and they'll be playing catch up.

Even with four starters out, I think the patriots can move the ball AND score on the Cardinals defense. Arians loves to blitz. He will bring as many as seven or eight. If he does, JG just has to be able to dump the ball quickly to his hot read. If he can do it two or three times, the Cards will have to back off and play straight because they'll be down by two or three scores.

A tough game for JG just became even tougher. Like getting ready to climb Mount Rainier and finding out that it is Mount Everest instead and you are asked to climb wearing a pair of Reeboks. If the Pats' defense can keep the Cardinals at bay and give the offense good field position, there is a chance to pull this one out. A victory in Phoenix would be a real confidence builder for a sharply undermanned team. JG's mobility versus TB may be an ace in the hole and a few successful QB scrambles could help keep the Cards' defense on their heels. Any way you look at it, this will be a very tough game for the Pats.

Looks like Gronk will sit this week, not good news for Jimmy.
Would it be wrong of me to wish all the Cards wake up Sunday with a bad stomach bug?[/QUOTE]

I would prefer the Cardinals woke up Monday feeling sick and disgusted!!!!!

Worst case..........the Patriots lose and are tied for first with the Dolphins, Jets and Bills who all lost or are losing.

Best case they win and take the division tonight.

Great start. Garoppolo is calm and taking care of the ball. He did make one scary pass, but he's been pretty accurate. 10-0 at the end of 1.

... was this the first time this century that the Patriots were the trap game team?

Bennet was a beast of a blocker tonight. He helped the o-line a lot. That holding calling on him against Chandler Jones was BS. Bennet used Jones momentum and threw ass to the ground.

7-11 aka Hogan and Mitchell are going to do great things.

Great win last night! Bill Belichick just keeps adding to his legend as the greatest coach in NFL history. No one will ever question that the Patriots no matter who is playing will be one of the most well prepared teams in the NFL. Very impressed with them to get a win when nobody thought they could.

Thanks CD..........JG did much better than expected. Most of the media and 'experts' thought that he'd be rattled by the Cards blitzing. I think Belichick prepared him well for what the Cardinals were most likely to do. Arians is a good coach but he's predictable, because he always sticks with what has historically worked. I'd say the BB expected him to do exactly what he did. This game would have been a rout is not for the two turnovers inside the Patriots own 30. Two of the three Cardinals TDs came off those turnovers.
