Trestman has at least one brain fart a week
Might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen a coach do. Who on earth decides to try a long 47 yard FG on 1st down in OT when you're running the ball great?? All you do is keep running it to make it a short FG. If the Bears miss the playoffs by 1 game, this blunder will be what cost them the season.
Not to mention the fact that we can't get 1 fucking yard, on 2 fucking tries, that woulda ended the fucking game, with 4 minutes left.
As horrible as our D is, and considering that AJ was fucking shredding them all day, why in the flying fuck would you play conservative on that last drive before Minn. tied it up?
3 point lead, ball at fucking midfield, 2nd and fucking 2, and you run the same fucking between-the-tackles run, two consecutive plays and punt. First down WINS THE FUCKING GAME!!???

Fuck Trestman.
There is no possible explanation for that fucking retarded shit.
I would have liked to have seen another play run as well.
BUT WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS THERE. ( sorry for the caps.)
I just like the notion we have a coach w/ some balls and understands #s.
Gould makes that kick 98-99 % of the time . My estimation.
He missed it.
I won't blame the fucking coach for it.
Nor would I blame Robbie for losing the game. It should have been won a lot earlier.
There's only one -1- explanation I can come up with... Trestman and the Bears decided to tank the game / season. Otherwise, the decision (to kick a 47-yard FG on 2nd and 7) is unjustifiable... even a HS coach doesn't make that sort of monumental brain fart.
That aside, the ONLY silver-lining to this loss is the fact that the Bears weren't / aren't going anywhere in the playoffs anyhow, what with all the injuries to the Defense.
Oh well, wait til next year I suppose... what else is new when it comes to Chicago sports.
Gould is 72% from 40-49 for his career. Inside 40 that jumps to > 90%. Obviously, I was rooting for the Vikes and had already conceded the Bears the win the way they were moving the ball. I thought I'd lost track of the downs when Gould came in. I don't think I've never seen anything quite like it short of a last second play. Nobody leaves 2 downs on the table from 47 with that much time left. There was so much wrong with that decision it's hard to know where to start. 47 yards is simply way too long to just sit on it and assume your guy is going to make it.You were moving the ball fairly easily on the ground. If you miss it you give it back on the 37 to a team with an RB who's been shredding you all day and one of the best, if not the best, FG kicker in the league. There was nothing the least bit brave or smart about it. It may not have been as dumb as Schwartz's fake FG decision against the Steelers but it was more damaging.
