Can anyone think of a team that the compliance buyouts benefited more than Philly? I don't think there's another team even close.

I mean, Vinny and Ricky have the biggest buyouts, but both Tampa and NYI would've been peachy (albeit a bit less competitive perhaps?) with those contracts on the books. Philly? Man...who knows. Maybe would've went regular buyout on Bryz.

Twitter searches are the best way to get a laugh man. Shea Weber + Flyers. That's a good one. A lot of Philly fans seeking Timmeh. Of course Pens fans on there all want Scuds/Gill now. And the whole Bobby Ryan saga. Gosh...a time to be thankful for our SportsHoopla brood. You guysis are smart. We know what a cap is.

And the aforementioned stashing of Pronger's horrific deal.

No wonder Snider pushed so hard during the lockout.

And they need him to mentor the gift of the next great defenseman they got at the draft.

You just posted five pictures of a Captain talking to a ref. The horror. Sid did whine, he did talk crap, but I'm pretttty sure he's grown up since '05. Anyway, done with that conversation. Never been a more beaten horse. And I know you do it just to poke the bear...you poo head. I SAID IT.

Negative. He's still, quite literally, the biggest bitch in professional sports.

This is my favorite - the voice crack. Haha.

Crosby is a little whiney. OV is a little pompous. Marchand is a little dirty. And Hartnell can't even skate. They're men, not gods. It's okay.

I completely understand why the Flyers bought out Bryz & Briere. However, I question how much better they will be with the two players they've signed so far. Streit has been -40 plus the past two years. He hasn't been good in his own zone in quite some time. Vinny's best years are definately behind him.

I remember Rossi saying Weber was a done deal going to Pitt a few seasons ago.

Twitter is a good sports outlet, though

Except for Ray Shero :D

Geniuses are still mortal, Dash. At least in America. Maybe in Canada they never die.

Vinny has been fragile too...39 games this year, 64 and 65 games the two years prior. He plays much older than a 33 year old.

How does the Flyers getting Lecavalier help them, I just don't see it. If you can't get a quality goalie you need to get some help on D. :noidea:

ya because LTIR wasn't a part of the last CBA and post concussion syndrome is just a useful way to stash a contract.

Do you really believe he was still going to be playing at the end of that Contract?

He will be 44 when it expires. They knew he'd never finish it. His "retirement" was always going to be LTIR.

They probably expected he'd go a *little* longer, but still.
