Ian Rapoport:

Niners reached a one-year deal with LB Parys Haralson, I'm told. It's for $1.3M with a chance to make $1.7M. Good locker room guy, too

Just reduced his cap figure.

Nice! Now he's worth keeping. I think the Niners actually missed him last year more than Niner fans realize.

This is great news. He's definitely worth keeping at that price. Doesn't anyone know what he was due to make before restructuring?

I think they missed him plenty. If only because his presence would have allowed us to keep Aldon a bit fresher.

@AdamSchefter: Browns WR Josh Cribbs failed physical with Cardinals, per ESPN Cleveland. A meniscus issue. However Cribbs still could sign with AZ later.

Rolando McClain - LB - Raiders

NFL.com reports the Raiders have granted LB Rolando McClain's agent permission to "facilitate a trade out of Oakland."

File this one under "duh," and "good luck." There's no scenario in which McClain is a part of the Raiders' future, making it extremely unlikely they're able to get anything in return. Any team interested in giving the 2010 draft bust a second chance will just wait until he's been released.

was this a case where his teammates (Alabama) made him look so much better?

make too many wrong decisions - especially high up - and you remain in mediocrity. OR, you balloon your cap chasing after FA's.

I think it was a case of him being a bonehead that couldn't stay out of trouble more than people making him look better.

Ed Reed - DB - Ravens

Ravens coach John Harbaugh says he's "very hopeful" of re-signing free agent Ed Reed.
"On the hopeful scale I’d say it’s of high hope," Harbaugh said Tuesday. "We’ll just have to see how it works out." Reed is back to shopping his services after the Texans reportedly only offered him $4 million per season. He's believed to be seeking $6-$7 million. He won't get that from Baltimore, but if all the offers are low-ball, it stands to reason Reed will decide to re-up with the only team he's ever known.

Phil Dawson is our new kicker - unless his twitter got hacked:

Phil Dawson ‏@phil_dawson_4 11s

I am humbled & thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my career with my new team, the SF 49ers!

Phil Dawson is our new kicker..

Source: Rotoworld.

"The 49ers are replacing David Akers with the best kicker on the market. Dawson has spent his entire 14-year career with the Browns, and was an original member of the "new" Browns in 1999. He's converted 84 percent of his 363 career field-goal attempts, and was 29-of-31 (93.5 percent) in 2012. The 49ers aren't going to have to worry about shanks this season."

I hope not!

Seems about as good as anything out there, but I wouldn't mind actually finding a young player at some point.

Hopefully the humbling part is in reference to how much he got paid. :)
