Forgot about him Crimson. He was the 1st pick in round 2 (2012). He had 18 receptions for 302 yards and 2tds last season. The Rams struggled so much offensively last season (avg about 210 yds passing/gm). It seems as though he is 4th on the depth chart behind Austin, Givens and Pettis. I agree with you that the Niners and the Rams have difficulty scouting WR. I don't know if he is a bust, but he hasn't shown much production in 2 years. More production than Jenkins, but that's not saying much. I just can't believe how awful that 2012 draft for the Niners. :L

Yeah, that 2012 draft just sucked. Fortunately, we've done a great job generally. Gotta really knock it out of the park this year. We have a chance to solidify the roster for years to come in this draft. I really hope they don't make a dramatic trade up. Something like last year is fine, but I don't want to five up more than a 3rd in this deep draft.

They need to find someone to help fill in for the lose of Ware and Hatcher.

Kicking the tires on pretty much every FA WR out there, apparently.

Leave no stone unturned. I'm thinking the Niners are also looking ahead of the possibility of not being able to resign Crabtree after 2014. They will have only Boldin and Patton signed. I hope they make a move on Cooks or Beckham. Might have to trade up for Cooks and give up a 3rd rounder.

@RapSheet: On Julian Edelman’s visit to the #49ers, my understanding is it’s more of a feeling out process, both ways, than anything. Nothing imminent.

I imagine it's the same with all of the WR's we're bringing in. Probably trying to see if we can get one if these guys kn a 1 or 2 year deal to increase their value. That seems to be the Baalke way.

@RavensInsider: Buccaneers agree to terms with Evan Dietrich-Smith, team announces

Another damn good signing by the Bucs. I would have been interested in him if we had cap room.

@caplannfl: Evan Dietrich-Smith's 4-year deal with #Buccaneers worth $14 25 m, $7.25 m guaranteed, per source. A bunch of teams in it to the end.

Damn that's a good deal. Lucky bastards.

Any other position and I might agree with you. But if our FO thinks we have the staff/scheme to increase a WR's value, they haven't been paying attention lately. There's absolutely no way we would increase Edelman or Sanders' value. And I can only see us increasing Nicks' value if he's 100% healthy and either Crabs or Boldin suffers an injury. I suppose we increased Boldin's value this past year, but that was almost entirely a product of opportunity.
