Retired LB Rolando McClain is in a better place mentally and has been telling people he plans to play football next season. McClain has been working out on a regular basis. The Baltimore Ravens currently own his rights, but they may not be willing to give him another chance.

Austin Howard - T - Jets

The Miami Herald expects the Dolphins to "focus" on free agent RT Austin Howard after locking up Branden Albert on Tuesday.
The Albert-to-Dolphins marriage is already considered a done deal. The Fins need more than one offensive lineman, however, and are expected to pursue Howard as well as free agent Zach Strief, who started at right tackle in New Orleans 2011-2013. Strief is a better pass blocker. Howard is a mauling run blocker.

I would be very interested in seeing Kenny Britt's production with the Redskins. I think he has a better chance signing with the Colts, Panthers, Pats, Packers, or Chargers, though. Maybe even Denver.

I just read that Byrd wants $9 mil per year. That's a lot of money and he's probably going to get it especially with more money available.

For instance, a source said the team had called about Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll. He was a fifth-round pick for Miami in 2010. At 6-1, 205 pounds, the 27-year-old Carroll also fits the mold of the bigger, physical cornerback the 49ers and other teams are seeking.
