When the Dolphins announce their deal with T Branden Albert tomorrow, he will end up getting $10M/season. Quite a haul

And the Dolphins continue to over pay for FA's. Don't they ever learn?

Two teams offered DE Michael Bennett more money but he opted to re-sign with SEA for 4 years, $28.5 million, including $10 million in 2014.

I'm interested to know if we designated Rogers a pre or post June 1st cut and of course what we are going to do with all that extra coin.

Oh no RT @PanthersNation_: Steve Smith's jersey has been removed from the Panthers online team store. Speculate what you will...

Crap. I was hoping he'd sign for more than that.

@RapSheet 2m

The #Panthers are attempting to trade WR Steve Smith, per source. Given his $7M cap number and age (34), seems unlikely.

Sweet! Get him.

We definitely should sign a safety. Mitchell or Delmas are the most realistic. That's a position we won't be able to address in the draft. Pryor will be gone before we pick. A T. Brown re-signing isn't looking too bad at the right price. Maybe wen Browner or Walter Thurmond lll? I still want Veritt, Roby, or Gilbert, but at least we wouldn't have to be desperate come draft day.

#49ers did not show interest in safety Louis Delmas, who is signing with Miami, according to PFT. SF holding out hope of re-signing Whitner.

Nolan Carroll - DB - Dolphins
The 49ers are among the teams showing interest in free agent CB Nolan Carroll.
We're beginning to think Carroll has the best agent in the biz', considering he's not an especially effective player but multiple "reports" have claimed various teams want him. He's also been linked to the Vikings, Steelers, and Dolphins, among others. The Niners are needy at corner after cutting Carlos Rogers.

Julius Peppers - DL - Bears
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears are shopping RE Julius Peppers for trade.
It's the likely certain precursor to Peppers' release. Peppers' 2014 salary cap number is nearly $20 million, and Chicago needs that space to be active in free agency as well as sign its rookie class. At this point, GM Phil Emery would probably accept a late seventh-round pick for Peppers, although he won't even get that. Expect Peppers to be dumped by Tuesday afternoon.

David Baas - C - Free Agent
Giants released C David Baas.
The move saves $1.775 million in room, but leaves a whopping $6.45 million in "dead money" on the Giants' cap. Baas, 32, has broken down physically in recent years, and the G-Men have interest in ex-Packers C Evan Dietrich-Smith. Dietrich-Smith played under new Giants OC Ben McAdoo in Green Bay. Recovering from a knee injury, Baas may resurface on a minimum contract.

Profootballtalk reports free agent Vontae Davis is expected to sign a contract on Tuesday, but "not with the Colts."
Reporter Mike Florio does allow that it's "not over yet, though." Either way, it directly contradicts CBS' Sunday report that Davis was "nearing a deal" with the Colts, and that there was "every expectation" an accord would be hammered out by Monday. One of the market's top free agents, Davis should have a new deal/home by tomorrow evening.

Red Bryant's deal in Jacksonville is 4 years at 17 million. That makes me feel a lot better; I wouldn't have wanted to pay him that much.

I would love to see him in the red and gold, but not for the money he is going to want...

No one has talked about it but earlier today it was reported that Vontae Davis was leaning toward signing with a team that is not the Colts. I wonder if it's us.
