Not too many pass rushers left. Teams don't let quality ones go often. The Chiefs tagged Dee Ford but apparently he is on the trade block for the right price which is probably alot.

D. Lawrence, J. Clowney, F. Clark, G. Jarret all got tagged. The bad news obviously is that we can't get a really good one (it seems) in Free Agency. The good news is, it probably forces the team even more to ensure they snag someone early, instead of getting cute in a trade down. Either way, QW/Bosa looks good right now.

Reading into it, (if it's true) it's Griffen and his $11M for Matt Breida and a 6th rounder.

I don't want to give up Brieda. Griffen is over 30 years old. I don't see McKinnon as a full time back and he is going to need to share reps. I think Brieda makes the perfect one two punch

I'm not a fan of that trade.

me neither.

don't we already have two 1st rounders (Thomas and Armstead) 'sharing' DE? Day wasn't too bad backing up Buckner, so can't be depth at 3-tech?

I guess I'm not as opposed to the idea as most. Brieda had a nice year (when healthy) and is probably more easily replaceable and Griffen is, or at least was a proven edge rusher.

Are you saying Griffen would play the LEO spot?

He's been predominantly a 4-3 end, so I'd say yes. He did play part OLB/part DE a few years ago though.

With the Minnesota trade which sounds pretty reasonable we may still get Bosa, Allen or trade down for Oliver, thus setting up the front 7 nicely!!:)

If we add Griffen and then Josh Allen, it will look good on paper for this season. Griffen is at LEO (i don't know, just going by Roma) and Allen at SAM.

But Griffen is 31 years old, that isn't wise planning at LEO? Playing Allen at SAM a year and then asking him to perform at LEO, sounds unreasonable?

The problem with Griffen is he makes nearly 15 million next season and he's a head case so I'm not sure how trustworthy he would be and that's a lot of money for a player that is as troubled as Griffen.

We could get another SAM or LEO try to keep reps low for Pass Rush, keep Armstead or Blair watch the back out and then run downhill to the ball! Maybe get lucky and find Von Miller clone!:)
