So here is Middlekauff's trade scenario:

  • 49ers receive the Giants' No. 6 overall pick and Beckham.
  • Giants receive the 49ers' No. 2 overall pick, 49ers' second-round pick (No. 36 overall), and the 49ers' first-round pick in 2020.

Middlekauff acknowledges again that this scenario would be the 49ers overpaying for Beckham. He doesn't believe the Giants will get a better offer but also notes that San Francisco is unlikely to give up that much for one player.

No, don't like this at all.

This guy must be a Giants fan.

Now I'm not saying the Giants should or would pay multiple firsts plus Beckham. I view Beckham as equivalent to multiple high picks. I would say a pick or two between rounds 3-5 would be fair. So 49ers trade #2 for #6, Beckham, and 3rd (or multiple 4th or 5th round picks).

49ers trade #2

Giants trade #6, Beckham, and 3rd (or mutliple 4th or 5th)

is this correct?

Yeah something along those lines could be a third and another later pick pick as well I just doubt the Giants would give up multiple firsts as well as Beckham.

Ok, just making sure.

I asked because this is the opposite extreme of what that Scout proposed. Your trade proposal makes more sense BUT, there isn't a highly regarded QB prospect. Another team would only do your trade if there was a top QB prospect.

Well the highly regarded QB deal is in the eye of the beholder. With Murray coming in at 5'10 1/8" he put himself in the first round or better ranking as most thought he would come in at barely 5'8".

Bosa, Allen, Murray, Williams could all go #1 and top 3 teams could all trade!?! We again are in a good position like last year!

Also Vernon is on the trade block of potential to be released from the Giants.

Top 5 players the 49ers should want after Day 1 of the Combine

Yep, i would want either of the first two guys on this list. However, our D is too weak to use the Round 2 pick. So weak i'd even use the 3rd rounder on D, or even WR before O-line.

MAYBE we take the 3rd guy in Round 3?

Not too many pass rushers left. Teams don't let quality ones go often. The Chiefs tagged Dee Ford but apparently he is on the trade block for the right price which is probably alot.

Would've been nice to add an O-linemen but since our D is so weak, we have to go there. We need a Flanker too so we'll go there before linemen.

IF we don't add an O-linemen this draft, thats ok cause it meant we addressed other needs first.

Makes sense.
Fill needs as the draft breaks down before you
It's the main reason I'm not looking at the higher rated OL's

I'm hoping to address most if not all DB needs in FA

This draft I'd like to see
A couple of end rushers and a LB
I'm leaning towards Deebo at WR
Maybe another TE and WR
OL

I'd be fine if we add another ER, and i'm hoping for a LB before CB. I know we have to go with value but in event of equal value, rather secure the middle over the back end FIRST. Yes, we need help at the back end too, but something has to go first.

I'm hoping for a SAM to be more specific, but a MLB is fine too.
