The whole tourney should be played at 3 on 3. That was great to watch.

There were some guys flying around in OT. Someone needs to introduce Connor McDavid to Mackinnon. It didn't appear as if Mackinnon knew the best player in the world was out there with him. Looked more like he just wanted to be the hero...

That sure beat the usual All Star Game hi jinx festivities. And - it was just one game. Give me more of that.

Once they got going in OT it was pretty great and was mostly great the rest of the way. The first minute and a half or so (off the top of my head) was just cycling around and regrouping in their own zone over and over. Same boring thing that happens far too much in NHL OT in my opinion. I was just about to joke post they need a shot clock when the action picked up.

Dont really want new rules, but maybe no carrying the puck back across center ice.....

And either way, NHL OT should be 10 minutes before a shootout.

Or how about no shootout? 2 points for a regulation win or OT win after 10 minutes of 3-on-3, no points for a regulation loss, the points are shared if still tied after 10 minutes of 3-on-3 hockey.

This whole idea about needing to determine a winner for a regular season NHL game is bunk. The most popular game in the world is still fine with ties.

That certainly makes sense to me, just don't see them doing that.

Yeah, not until Gary is long gone and even then it's a pipe dream. The shootout has been around so long now that it won't be going away even though it's a terrible way to decide a hockey game.

Players get a say and at least this guy says he was wiped out after the five minute mark.

Of course he was on every second shift but that would likely be the case even more so on their club teams.

OR...10 minutes of 3 on 3 followed up by 10 more minutes of 3 on 3
