There are some people that like to compare Osborne's first 5 years to Bo's first 5 years as if it is a good comparison. Yeah the both have a +.700 winning percentage. Yay!!!! But what does that get you in today's college football? In Osborne's first 5 years, Nebraksa spent 1 week outside of the top 25. In Bo's first 5 years, Nebraska has spent 22 weeks and counting outside of the top 25. So the comparison of what happened 40 years ago is a bad one!!!!

For shits an giggles, Frank spent 10 weeks out of the top 25 in his 6 years and Billy C spent 31 weeks out of the top 25 in 4 years. Osborne only spent 3 weeks outside of the top 25 in his 25 years.

Football today is nothing like it was 40 years ago. Way more balance among teams, top to bottom. TO, bless him, was coaching in a whole other world. Billy C was an asshat. Fuck him.

TO played 1 good team a year.........and got ass raped by them annually.

It's not a good comparison no matter which way you try to flip it.........but I don't really think you can look at TO's first 5 years and say that it was so much better than Bo's.

No comparison really is a good comparison. The landscape of College Football changes every single year. Oregon is changing College Football as we speak........and I don't like the way they are changing it......but they are.

Here's all you need to know:

Osborne never had more than three losses.

Pelini has never had less than four losses.

Osborne played fewer games a season than Pelini is playing and did it against lesser competition as well.......giving him less opportunities to lose.

See we can keep this little carousel going round and round all day.........it's pointless in the end.

Yeah, ass rapings. Might want to check those scores and final rankings a little more closely...

:noidea:

Osborne got continually raped over and over again by Oklahoma.......

And that was the only team that was above average on the schedule for many years before a couple other Big 8 teams finally started getting better........

Imagine if there were multiple teams on the schedule back then that were above average.....
