I don't understand you judging the trade of Jeffres so early. He hasn't pitched enough for it to be an overpay. What trade did you want to make?

Maybe he wanted thornburg. I thought they gave us a choice on which reliever to take. I just hope we don't have to give them a good pitching prospect like Mendez as the ptbnl.

Holland on Lucroy:
Overall the guy is an outstanding catcher. He calls a great game. He sets up low which makes it even better for you to focus on low pitches. He's just a really good guy back there ... He keeps you focused, keeps you loose, keeps you where you need to be. The guy has been an outstanding pickup for us and you have to really give J.D. (Jon Daniels) a lot of credit for bringing those guys in that he did. With Lucroy, that kid is an animal.

I am very much opposed to the mindset of "counting chickens before they hatch," but whatever can be done to keep Lucroy as fresh as possible is something I'm OK with. Because at a certain point of the season, he'll need to be out there every game, for many games, if you catch my meaning.

I agree. Chirinos can catch guys like Colby and even Hamels. I'd leave Holland, Perez, and Darvish to Lucroy.

I do get your meaning, and agree/understand completely.

That's why I named only the 3, Darvish/Holland/Perez, which I feel he really needs to work with in order to accomplish what we need in both the short and long term.
