I think they can still make a trade and avoid this. They just have to eat the bonus I think that's what's stalling things. Not sure if that will go against the cap?

I'd rather buy him out because you'd still get a decent amount of cap space by buying him out and you wouldn't have to potentially give up a decent pick just to get him off the books
