Coburn stepped it up big time in the playoffs, he became a lot more physical...it looked like he was trying to develop a Pronger mean streak. If you ask me its fortunate for the Flyers he sucked so much ass in the regular season because that should get them a bit of a discount when you view the numbers to resign, but if he plays like he did in the playoffs for a full season Flyers will have a seriously fierce defense.

I dont think that is allowed till after FA period begins. Maybe teams do it, but it is probably a big deal if they are caught.

I think most of us around here agree that we need a young stud who can play now. I agree that Tokarski looks really good, but at only 20 years old, and only 2 games at a level higher than juniors, he's not our "right now" solution.

I think most of us around here agree that we need a young stud who can play now. I agree that Tokarski looks really good, but at only 20 years old, and only 2 games at a level higher than juniors, he's not our "right now" solution.

Quick isn't what you think he is. His sv% could rival that of Fluery. I don't want a goalie like Fleury. Quick would be a last resort, and I certainly wouldn't give up Carter for just him and a pick.

my thing is bernier could come up next season and throw a gustavsson and the flyers would be downright fucked.. obviously 'the monster' had to adjust to playing the N.A. this year, but he was touted as the next great swedish goaltender and had barely marginal numbers this season

i dont want to have this team, set up like it is (with timmo and pronger getting up there in age and some guys on small enough contracts to fit it all together), to bank on a goalie that could struggle adjusting to the NHL.. i dont really care what his AHL numbers are, the NHL is a whole different beast.. and he'd be under some pretty serious pressure in philly to perform well with the team he'd have in front of him..

on a side note to whoever used the phrase 'best goalie not in the nhl'.. i dont really put a whole lot of stock into that.. it more or less means nothing to me, because there are some pretty dreadful goalies that are playing in the nhl..

dang man you got some serious hatred for quick haha.. i haven't seen a whole lot of him so maybe i'm missing something.. but 39 wings a .907 save percentage and a 2.54 GAA are pretty solid if you ask me.. that GAA can only go down playing behind the defense the flyers are putting together right now

he did have a pretty rough go in the playoffs.. but thats also a very young kings team out there experiencing the playoffs for the first time.. plus who knows why samuelson decided to go ape shit in the playoffs this year
